boring day at work

wat a boring day... nothing for me to do at all.. i hv been serving net the whole day! Worrying abt the hse n wedding plans but just no mood to get dw to it coz it's all pending pending pending.

Thought tis will be a fruitful week for me, with so many activities after work daily and with a new transferring of dept, who knows that i am so free?! At times i feel so useless, sit here n write to no 1 and cannot produce anything at work. Luckily my secondment came at the right time, just as I was getting bored at work, came this new challenge it helps. But hey... i'm still sitting at my old office waiting to shift i know life ov there not so easy lar but at least mre productive?

have asked hubby to go to paradox to pick up my heels for me coz i dont hv time to go dw before Thurs. Good for me as well at least i am away fm tempation since nw is the great singapore sale! Really same line again, money no enough.

Paid another $900 for the hse. I'm so sick of paying n paying $ for the hse.. hai. But seriously, do we have a choice? The answer is No coz we want a suitably decent hse and w/o all those basic items that we are doing currently, it's not anywhere near the category of decent. So bo bian, hv to do it means hv to do it. Bite the bullet and get it done.

The moment the hse is finished, we owe ppl debts! The contractor has kindly offered us to pay by installments but we oso need the $ for wedding so we c hw it goes lar. So sian.

Day in day out, moon in moon out, all my waking seconds are troubled by the hse reno n $. All wedding things seem to suddenly not matter anymore, everything is at a standstill except the hse!

Havent even began the 'negotiating' for the wedding by both parents and I am so sian. I cannot imagine what will happen after that neg! I'm v sure my parents want some 'pin jin' but in modern Singapore nw, I think all young couples will pay for everything ourselves? I not sure lar but i can say don't hv silver spoons in my nor my hubby's mouth so every single thing we got to worry abt it.

Hw i envy sme of my friends who can stay wif parents after marriage.. ppl to cook, to wash, to take care of children n best of all, don't need to buy everything fm scratch!

Argg... n the worse is that i saw fm the HDB websit that they are having WIS. There are units in my town! With the amount that i paid, i can buy 2 units fm them!!! ARGGG... this news really really did not help to improve my mood a single bit!

How i wish i can strike ToTo or 4D and all my $$ woes will be gone. Gone with the wind!

tis blog is an interesting for me to hide and not to face the world and to shout to the whole world my needs!!! n of course tis blog is new so alot of efforts to come to maintain it. The novety of writting in cyberspace.. hahahahahahaha

I'm in tat kind of mood where every single moment of my life revolves around money! money!! and mre money!!! Our lovenest needs money & our wedding needs money 2.

Renovation is costing us $10K. Yet we have no choice to not do it. With the new additions of a bed room set and also painting... the costs hv increase another 2K. Bring the total renovation to $12K++ n i am super sure that this costs is only gng to go up mre coz we still have mre things to add.

Mayb 1 suggestion is to not hv a bed room set. Meaning i just ask David to build in my cabinet and we buy the bed frame n side tables outside. We calculated and the costs is not much of a difference, really.
David charges $1100 for the bed frame + headboard + side table. If I get it from outside the cost is $1070 for the same 3 items and the colour + material will definately not match so closely and the difference is only $30!!! Well, i think for $30 to have a bed room SET is worth it. Thank God, hubby feels the same!

The next item.. painting... hm.. to save costs i can ask my Dad, my BIL and oso friends to do it... But hm.... are they professional??? My Dad i think it's ok coz he oso painted our current flat himself... but hm... friend and BIL?? Then if there's anything that is not to our liking, cannot 'give it to them' leh.. coz need to talk nicely n if anything happens will strain friendship and relationship...
The paint will costs me close to $400. David quoted me $1100... that's quite a big difference ($700 - can get me a good TV or a HUGE washing machine!) for us to do it ourselves or to get David to do it. Yet, on the other hand, if David does it, I can be sure of professionalism. Is $700 too much to pay fior professionalism, convenience and the lack to coordinate logistics?? N of course, painting done within 3 days? Hm.... really need to think about tis carefully.

N the best part is... just over a short Sat afternoon, we signed away $1040 worth of household items! *WHEW*
David brought us shopping on Sat and we bought the following items:
1 sink, $210
1 tap, $45
2 ceiling fans, $380
1 water heater, $140
1 cooker hop with 2 burners, $265
hm.. looking at the list again, $1040 is not a big figure coz my hm will really b move in condition. Just that in the short time of 2 hours, $1040 gone is abit the heart wrenching!

Not to mention, just last week, we paid $4500 to the contractor. $1500 is for the air con (which we all can't live w/o now) hm.. speaking of which, must remember to pay another $480 for air con, which amounts to a total of $1980 for the installation and system. And of course $3000 is for David.

Been to our lovenest ov the week end. Woah! Almost can't recongnise it, all the old things are gone, my flat is just an empty shell. Nv seen it in tis empty state. But it's good coz it allows us to c the hse condition. Of course there are cracks n stuff, but i think cement should do the trick nicely and a good, hard chemical wash will bring the tiles back to it's old glory (glup.... hopefully!)

$ is tight.. v tight.. but i think i got to relax lar. Don't have means don't have.. we will find a way.. ~we will find a way, when there seems to be no way~

busy week ahead..

brand new week = 1 mre wk nearer to my wedding :)

quite excited at the thought of getting married isn't it esp when the both of us are planning our lives together.. of course life is not a bed of roses but well.. the thought of waking up in each other's arms is kind of heart warming!

tis wk is really a bz wk. After work tonite..we got to go to BC for our final gown fitting n trial make up (hope i don't grow sideways anymre n the make up looks good!) *keeps fingers cross* n if possible need to rush dw to Essex Walk for my pair of heels... hm.. wonder if the shipment is here..
*mental note*
1) call the shop to chk for shoes
2) remind hubby to call David for the bed n painting later as well = mre costs but oso means my bed rm is done in a set n my hse is painted professionally.

Tues evening... got a facial appt.

Wed evening (day before PS! EEKS!!!!!)... Manicure and Pedicure followed by NFP in CTK.. hm.. must wear comfy shoes... fm J8 to walk to CTK far.. also hv to take super good care of nails...

Thurs is PHOTOSHOOT!!! wah... so fast!

Fri nite is RCIA nite as well..

Come weekend = time to relax? not so fast.. tis week end it's my turn to mop the floor.. n oso need to change bedsheets. Heng i told my mum tat i change the bedsheets tis wk end.. if not i'm supposed to do it last wk end n if i break my nails?! *Horrors*

Think most likely either sat or sun hv to go n inspect the hse n c c the progres.. hm.. but David is out of town for at least 2 wks! Then we go for wat? Aiyah.... but no tm to go during the week nite.

Woah!! Looking at my schedule.. I'm a bz bz bz gal! When on earth can i rest my tired body?

At least after tis wk end.... i think it will be at least mid Jun till i step into BC again.. tis tm to view n select photos? Then most likely Aug go take photos n again another rnd of trying the gowns?

Ah... suddenly remember got to arrange for my Jie Mei to get together to saboh hubby for AD.... my new flat seems like a good n likely plc..

oso got to arrnage for church wedding rehearsal.. is my Dad gng to walk me dw the aisle.... feel v funny holding on to his arm.. will wait n pray to get an answer... sort of left out tis bit in my prayer recently!

sleepy time

went to Bishan J8 for lunch earlier with the full intentions of just getting movie tickets to 'Star Wars' exactally WHY i'm watching this show tml is a big mystery to me.. I know nuts abt 'Star Wars' not to mention if this revenge or not. Yesshh...

N my GOODNESS... the movie tickets are so darn expensive. $9.50!!! If not for the sake that my pathetic singtel movie voucher is expiring nt wk i for 1 definately will NOT watch this show. Ahh..... but u can bet your bottom last dollar that I will not miss Harry Potter.... heard tat it's coming out end of this year... long wait.

Anyway went to Aussion (again!?) They as usual having sale.. don't know wat kind of sale lar... every Fri sure sale... bought another 2 set of Quilt Covers for my bed.

My current bed supplies stand at 2 Quilts, 1 set of mattress protector, 4 BIG pillows, 2 sets of fitted sheets & 3 sets of quilt covers. Y I need so many I dont know also... but my bed things definately spells A-U-S-S-I-N-O! Hm... maybe I should work with them? Can get better discounts?! I'm a proud aussion owner.. eyeing their suede quilt cover set though. The moment they hv THAT set on promotion.... u will find me there.

n the joke of the day is... my dearest hubby n me hv no bed! Hahahahahahaha... we 'booked' the mattress but no bed frame yet.. N the mattress is still somewhere probably in the shop. N here i am getting all excited wif all bed things. What a joke.

Well... the good news is.. my renovation for our love nest has STARTED!!! Yipee!!! Hip Hip Horray!!!

end of another LONG day

finally time to scoot off home.. but wait.. before i do that, I'm meeting a friend for dinner... all the way in town! Not tat i am nt happy to go just kind of lazy to go dw.

Today also ends the 2 week long program that i've been worrying about.. thank goodness nothing much went wrong except for lack of participants.. but tis is the most impt? Don't care lar... anyway today marks the end of it! N i wont hv to see it till Oct tis yr! Hoorray!!!!!

But before i end my day... got to seriously think wat are the items to make new n wat to keep for our love nest.. tis 1 headache + heartache + pocket ache sia..

with this week ending nt wk i'll be at my new office.... tat's another challenge for nt wk.. n *whew* nt wk is a bz time..... my photoshoot is oso scheduled for nt wk, a high powered meeting scheduled as well n diefinately time to get to know my new colleagues nt wk!!

Renovation works

met up with the contractor, David last nite. His charges are not sky high but still it is 10K+ I have varied comments ranging from he is expensive to he is reasonable.. fm our previous 3 quotes, his is the lowest by far.

of course the 10K+ does not include our air con, lightings, fans etc etc etc.. amounts to alot of $$ gng into the hse. still hv wedding things to pay for.. At moments like this, really wished tat I hv saved mre when i had the $ or born wif silver spoons in my mouth. But no such luck..

So just pray tat all things will work out fine and tat we don't hv to borrow too much fm family members. At least thank GOD, we don't have to take any bank loans! The interests fm the bank loans i think probably enough for us to renovate my 2 other rooms?! hahahahaha

all in all, i'm glad that we finally finally settled on the contractor and starting work pretty soon in fact TOMORROW if we don't change any more of the quotes. Soon we can hv our love nest ready! :)

Also have to pray that David will have pity on us and that the charges he charged us are the best price... hm... wondering if we shd hv asked him are those his best price.... :S

work work work

Oh my goodness... for the last few weeks, i hv been so bogged down with work! Morning the moment i opened my eyes i think of work. When i prayed i prayed about work!

Think i'm turning into a robot! YEesh.... N don't know if it's good or bad.. but I'm gng to a new dept. Definately will learn new things and hv mre exciting things to do.. but wat a bad time.... hse reno n wedding n new work?! Sounds like a bad combination already.
