whahahahaahahahaha!

I've finally, FINALLY managed to catch the culprit who keeps leaving rubbish at my side of the corridor! All this time, we already know it's who since they were stupid enough to leave boxes that has their address and name on it at my side. And the boxes are all MIC (Made-In-China) things plus, the entire unit was rented to PRC...Not hard at all in figuring out who those idiots were right?

Was typing here and then I heard a box being left on the floor. Immediately, my high alert went up and I went out to investigate.

Just nice! I went out, that idiot guy (clad in just his underwear) has the cheek to walk from his unit back to the box to throw a piece of paper. Immediately I said / shouted in Mandarin which roughly translates to "Why must you always leave your rubbish at my side? U cannot leave it on your side?!"

He replied in Mandarin which means "Oh, it's nothing, just throw there. *picks up the box and then leave it at his side* Sorry sorry, don't think too much into it."

Ok, I also don't want to blow up the matter, but since he has apologized and picks up the rubbish and leave it at his side, I just let it go. But, I made sure, he picked up and shifted it over before going back into my unit.

I don't think I am being unreasonable or being too aggressive in this case, because,
1) his rubbish can be left on his side but it's never there, always my side.
2) this has happened too many times.
3) they once left a queen size metal bed frame together with many other boxes of rubbish at my side, and I've already let it go. Because, I thought that, for an object of that size to be shifted out of the tiny HDB doorway, they probably have not much room to turn and hence ended up at my side.
But ever since then, all their boxes are always at my side! Argh!

I've gone knocking on their door hoping to talk to them nicely but though they are at home, they refuse to answer or to come to the door. Hence, finally I have no choice but to really confront them face to face.

And I'm proud of myself! I've finally done it today! hahahhaha..... Hope that this will be the end to this incident!! I have no wish to even speak to them at all! ARGH!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, leaving that stupid man and the rubbish aside, I saw something online that it's so cute that I absolutely CANNOT not have it.

Key Covers!And damn cute too!

So, yups, have placed orders for it. SOOOO cute lor. How can I miss having it?! hahahahaha.... And it's not that expensive too. USD $4.80 for a set of 6!

Can't wait to dress up my keys! =D

Comfort Food.

My comfort food is Chips, Ice Cream and all things chocolate for the time being. But what were the comfort foods when I was young girl?

I remembered my parents and granny will not buy Chips or ice cream or chocolates for me when I was much younger because all these are unhealthy food. And to my mom especially, chocolates is a big no no as the chinese believe it to be heaty and leading to all other kinds of childhood sickness.

Hence, one of the common snack that was allowed to me was Biscuits.

This got to be my all time favorite biscuits, the Tasty Biscuit Sticks. In fact, there has been almost zero changed to the packaging except for the sizing. Both the small and big packs come in the same way! Orangey background with sticks of biscuits on it. It’s the same when I ate it as a young girl and now when I’m eating it as a woman in my twenties! I have no idea why I like it so much. But I just like it. It used to come in half size and costs about 40 cents? The only size I see now are all the big packs. I still munch on them even till now, that's more than 20 years of eating the same biscuits and still not sick of it.

Another of my favorite is this. Gilco Pretz Biscuits Stick. I remembered it as it is. The exact girl on the white box munching on the biscuit sticks. Of course, it has since evolved to other newer and more attractive packaging. But somehow, the girl seems more familiar and tastier.

The tasty is still available in the same packaging in stores and NTUC, I get my fix from them every so often. The old school Pretz is no longer available on the shelves but what is available are all the new flavors of Pretz that comes in fanciful flavors and I must say, pretty expensive too!

I’ve enjoyed it for so long since a child that I took it for granted that it’ll always be available. What I did not know was, both biscuits are manufactured in Japan! All along I thought this cheapo looking biscuits are local products. I was wrong!

I guess, I can only say, I have high tastes from young ya? Fancy only eating Japanese products at that young age already.

And I guess, as I grow older and older, I begin to appreciate the finer things in life....From cheapskate Glico Pretz sticks, I’ve also upgraded to fanciful sticks with assorted chocolates or nuts. From Mac, I’ve moved on to Subway.

And tomorrow evening, the lunchtime kaki and I will be going for a nice sumptuous dinner in Ma Maison at Central, where it’s Japanese fusion food. I’m looking forward to it, definitely!

I guess, comfort food will never ever be replaced, there’s always something that will bring me back and remind me of childhood days.

But there’s also always room to try out new food and to let it be a comfort food too! =P

My make up and Moi.

Have been thinking of doing this post for a long time but always, never had the patience nor gather enough effort to actually sit down to do it. Plus the fact that I have way too much make up, to do a post like this means I got to go and take photos of the stack of make up lying in my drawer and the thought of it puts me off already.

But out of a sudden, I thought, I should do a post on it, and I shall only "feature" those items that I'm using almost on a daily basis or else 2,3 times a week. But, of all the items featured mostly from Benefits Cosmetics and Clarins, I still have lots of them of different various brands lying in the cupboard waiting for me to dig them out to see the sunlight again... But unfortunately, I think I most likely will not do that since it has been ages since I last brought them out of the drawer and I figured the next time they see sunlight, it will be into the bin already.

I must first declare that I'm a lazy person, hence, my make up are mostly the simple and idiot proof kind. Colors and shades are mostly neutrals hence nothing should go wrong. I hate mixing and matching of colors because I know I will never get to finish pots and pots of colors yet I'll keep buying and I'm just too lazy and honestly cannot really be bothered to go on a mixing and matching mood in the early mornings. Hence, I've changed my make up habit to only include things that either come in box or small quantity. Anything that comes in a big packaging only belongs to the family of essentials and usually, it falls into my Bases and or Foundation family.

Anyway, to start it off, my various bases and foundation.
In our hot and super sunny Singapore, Sunblock is very very important. I almost never leave home without it unless it's just a trip to the coffee shop downstairs to get food. I've been using Clarins Sunblock for almost 2 years and I really like it. It's very light, not oily and definitely easy to absorb into the skin. There's no additional fragrance so, need not be afraid of those weird smells. And an amount of close to a dollar coin size is enough to cover my whole face and best of all, the SPF is 40! That's one of the highest sun block I've used so far.

I've got rather oily eye lids sad to say, and my eye shadow (ES) does not stay on. Either that, or it will start to have that ugly crease line by the middle of the day! Hence, I've been going around without ES for a long time. But, I've found my Saviour! The Benefit Cosmetics (BC) Nude Eye Primer is good! It helps me to lock in my ES for most of the day, unless I've accidentally added too much ES, else my lids looks pretty good till I head for home in the evenings. On those days where I'm lazy or on weekends, where I just need minimal coverage, I'll just use the lemon aid to dab and blend it over my lids and my eyes look fresh!

I use a face primer for the rest of my face and again, it's from BC; That Gal. This has a natural sweet fragrance that reminds me of sweet strawberries. I never fail to put this on before my liquid foundation, which I'm currently using Estee's. That Gal is also great for weekends when I go to church and I don't want to put on the full make up and wash off everything in just a matter of 2,3 hours, I'll use just the primer with the rest of my other point make up and I'm ready to go. That of course, also gives me more sleeping time!

After the bases and foundation, comes the rest of the colors.
There are some ladies who die die must start their make up from their brows down to eyes, then cheeks and lips. I do not follow such a formula. I just do whichever I feel like doing first.

And in most cases, I start with my eye lashes. As I usually add a few layers of lash protector, (currently using Mavala), I'll do that first. While it's in the process of drying, I'll do my cheeks. Yups. Cheeks. Sometimes, I'll use the High Beam (3 dots on cheek bones) and Benetint (3,4 strokes) and blend blend blend. Or I'll just use the cream blusher. Most times, I'll add a layer or two of the Dandelion over my cheeks to give it a girly pinky blush. But almost all the time, I'll add High Beam to the curve of my brows and also the bridge of my nose to give it just a little highlight and to bring out my features.

Next, I'll do my brows. Either the BC, Big Beautiful Eyes BBE) darkest shade or I'll just use some eyebrow pencil to fill in and to darken. No particular brand, as long as I like it, I'll use it. Sasa has some pretty cheap and good brands or Kate has it too.

To achieve that dolly looking curvy eyelash, definitely need a curler, I hate those manual curlers where you got to "kiap" it for a few seconds. I've switched to a battery operated one. That's part of the reason why I put layers and layers of lash protectors over my lash before "kiapping" it. After the curling, I usually will do my ES, which the BC, BBE is so convenient. I hate the bit of a big pot and I can NEVER finish the colors, but BBE comes in 3 shades and 2 small brushes which makes it so convenient for me to use. When I need lighter and brighter colors, I'll use lesser. When I want it to last and be more outstanding, I'll just use the darker shades. Best for lazy people like me! But on those days I'm lazy, I have an even better and idiot proof yet guaranteed to wake up those peepers! The Eye Bright! A pink soft pencil which is used on the lids and once blended gives a soft pink to those peepers and immediately caused those peepers to appear bigger and brighter!

Lastly for my peepers, how can I forget the eyeliner and lashes that I've painstakingly protected and curled? A thin, dark line on the upper lash and then a coat of mascara. I swear by MM mascara. It's a subsidiary of Shishedo make up and I love it to bits! It lengthens very well and lashes stays curled for the whole day! Best of all, it's so affordable at less than $18 SGD! Only thing is, if it's purchased locally, it costs more than $30! But get your girlies to get it in Taiwan or Japan and it's really so cheap! The current tube is already my 3rd or maybe even 4th!

I'm not a lippies person, I find it a hassle and a damn waste to keep applying lippies especially when I got to re-apply after a drink or a meal. I hate that kind of hassle and it irritates me no end when I see my own lippies mark on the cup or straw or anything.

Hence, I only use lip balm or gloss, to give that shine and also to protect my very dry lips. For the protection & moisture, I'm using Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm. Not bad, can feel that it's liquid base and I quite like it only thing is, I don't quite like the way the design of the mouth of the balm. But then again, I guess there's not much choice.

A recent discovery is the California Kissin gloss by BC. There's mint in it hence there's a refreshing feeling on the lips after application and there's some glitter which really makes my lips shine!

For the grand finale, how can I forget the loose powder. 1 sure way to hide any redness and spots will be the Bluff Dust. I just sweep it all over my face adding more when necessary over areas that needs to be hidden. Else I'm ready to go now.

I have another 2 small boxes of items of BC, those are my touch ups and like the name suggest, "Just In Case" for any of those just in case moments!

I think by now, I would have already spent close to 30 mins just on my face, taking another 5 minutes for my hair, accessories (which I seldom change, I wear the same daily) and a few squirts of my fragrance, I'm really ready to get out of the house. Usually by now, Hubby will be giving me hints that he's running late! hahahahahah....

So, that's the products I'm using and how I do my make up in the mornings in a nutshell. I know, it's not the right way or procedure nor do I really care, because, I think so far my face is pretty presentable as it is when I do reach office.

Dinner with the SIM Gang

Friday. 20 June 08.

Had dinner with my usual gang of SIM friends. Was supposed to meet up after the exams to chill but for some reasons, we dragged and dragged and then the date was finally decided on 20 June and it also got some of us worried since it was the same day the results will be released.

Most of us were worried that we'll do badly but thank God, most of us did pretty well! =) The few of us who made it to the dinner. Sa, Me, WW, JD, mer and his family. His boy looks pretty grumpy in this pic, but he's not! He's so cute and cheeky! hahahahaha... Quite a handful too!

We made plans to meet up in Vivo Marche for wholesome family time, so that Mer can bring his family along... since it would be easier to meet him with his family rather than for him to apply visa to have a chilling and drinking session with us.

What to do? When you have a family, it's like that la, the spouse got to grant the visa before anything can be done, right Bro!? hahahaha....

Anyway, his boy has grown so much since the last time I saw them in church. So cute also too the little Shannon! Almost a photocopy of his daddy in real life. Little Shannon is most happy when he's waving his green balloon in the air. And he's so playful and intelligent! He'll throw the balloon to one of us and if we caught it, he'll bring his hands together, Clap and go "YAY" at the same time! whahahahahhahahaha

We had lots of fun, chatting and playing with the little one.

Was a pretty short night, after dinner, we just went home too. Better that way too, since a few of us had a long day and with a little boy in tow, better get home early so that he won't get too cranky!

Till the next after exams people!

Happy Day!

Early early morning, I got a MMS from the lunchtime kaki... my DS casing is here! Bright, cheery and Girly looking. Just my kind of casing! Doesn't my DS looks so pretty in new clothes?! =)
Ok la, my camera does not capture such a nice pic but you get the overall picture. Just realised, there's not much light in office to capture a nice photo. =/

And the best news of all is, I've got my grades back for the last semester.

I PASSED lei!

Some more got 1 Distinction! My first, one and only precious Distinction! The other 2 modules, I got a B each. Not fanastic, but I'm happy with it.

I'm not one who aims for the sky hence, B is good for me. =) Satisfied and contended with it already.

2 good and happy piece of news in 1 day!

Now I can go and celebrate! I want to go shopping, buy lots of things, useful or otherwise, lots of pretty clothes, lots of everything and go and FEAST and CELEBRATE!!!

I have a dinner date at Vivo, Marche tonight with some of my Uni friends... and next week, dinner with the lunchtime Kaki and then a high tea session!

Yups.... I'm definitely feasting!

I've been searching for a leather watch and I saw this cheap and nice one on F21.

Only USD $14.80 lei! So, cannot miss right? =PContemporary polished square bezel watch with faux leather band and rhinestone numbers. Nice and cheap. Good. Placed order already.

Should arrive by July. hahahhahahaha... 1st purchase to celebrate my moving on to 4th semester! =)

Doing my part

I've been trying to do my teensy, tiny part to save Gaia.

Besides the printing on both sides of paper, switch off lights, power etc etc, I'm also trying to reduce the use of plastic bags.

I still don't really remember to bring my own bags to NTUC, though I do have that big bag, 2 of them to be exact, but I usually go to NTUC from work and in my Coachie, I can hardly fit in the NTUC bag.

I think my lunch kaki has resolved that issue for me once and for all.

Met up with her in town last evening and we got this. A pouch? How's that going to resolve my reduction of plastic bags, you say.

Well, it does. See, there's 5 envirosax bags in that pouch!

We were ready to buy individual ones till we realised, we each could save a dollar or 2 off each bag if we get this ready packed series. Hence, we picked the Mikado Pouch series to share between the 2 of us.

I choose and for myself. One will be brought along with me daily to work. The other, I can leave it at home or something and when necessary will bring it together or I can just give it to my mom for her own shopping needs.

Now the good thing of this bag is that it can be rolled up into a small ball which weighs about 40g(about the size or smaller of a pair of adult socks!) which I can easily bring along with me when we go out for our lunches. Which I happen to notice, we buy more during lunches than the shopping trips! I think it will greatly reduce the number of bags that we will use... since the number of things we buy during lunches are well.... especially when we do go to NTUC....

Anyway, how's the bags gonna looked like when it's being carried. Of course, I have no intentions of getting so many, it's not exactly cheap too ya know. Each bag can carry a load of up to 12kg (or equivalent to 2 supermarket plastic bags), which I think is quite a lot. Made with lightweight polyester, portable and waterproof.

Get the bags online at Envirosax or at Taka, Basement 1. I think it's about $10.90 each but if you have friends to share, much more worthwhile to get the packs, since it's $45 for 5. I do think other malls will be selling it just that we did not walk around.

But I do like the Kitchen Retro Series! I probably would have gotten this yesterday if I've seen it, just that it was not available then. Anyway. I like what I have now too.

B-spot!

Got another mailer from Benefits.

This time, it's B Spot! The new fragrance from BC. Looks very fresh and green to me. Not sure how's the scent like since I've not step foot into Tangs for ages. Will make a trip there to find out one day.

Anyway, there's a quiz to find out your own personal spot... Quiz here.

I'm a "Savvy Simone" and my spots are at the bend of my elbows and on bended knees.... Just how am I supposed to reach this 'spot' when I'm fully dressed wearing pants or jeans is a question that I'll have to deal with. =/ Anyway, just in case you are curious, nope, I have no intentions of getting this item because 1) it cannot be shipped to SG. 2) I just got myself a brand new Estee Fragrance not too long ago, which I have yet to even use. 3) Issey's having promotion. 2 bottles for like $150.

So why should I waste $$ on this?

Thursday, June 12

I'm at it again.

Title says it all doesn't it?

Damage this time? Unknow yet coz the bill's not here yet. I'm begining to see the wonders of wearing 1 piece dress to work. It certainly makes the dressing up process in the morning a much faster and less painful.

That's not all, I got another dress while out for lunch with the kaki earlier too. Can't blame me, it was 40% off! And the colour's so pretty and nice! Plus the materials very comfy and most important of all, I look good in it! hahahahaha...

I'm getting so sick and tired of having to pick up various pieces of tops and bottoms to mix and match and it's taking me forever to get dressed in the mornings now. This time, I got myself single piece dress! Just pull it over myself and I'm ready for the next step.

I wish someone can invent 3/4 full make up that I can just plaster over my face and within 3 mins I can get out.

I bought a chio looking casing for my DS too for about $20 SGD! Looks like my DS's gonna have new clothes as well!=D I think it's pretty pointless to say it's in Pink right? OF COURSE it WILL be in PINK. The casing does look very solid and what I like is that it's almost an all in one.

Comes with card holders and compartments where I can house the additional games. COOL! Not that I have that many games to house anyway.

At the moment, I only have 2 original games and I have 3 CD worth of "er-hem" games... which I've only stored a small portion into the trusty R4.

Hence, just 2 game card slots will be more than enough for me. I doubt I will buy more new games anyway, I have too many to get myself familiar with at present already!

Lunchtime kaki's significant other helped me order it online and I should be able to receive it by end of next week!

=) Get it here if you want new clothes for your DS too!

It's free delivery to SG and my goodness, he just emailed me to let me know the price. It's only $18 SGD and delivered to his doorstep! Really, where on earth in SG can I get such a good deal!?

Which sets me thinking, does things in SG really have to be so damn expensive? It's still the same item after all right? Why must it be retailed at such horrible and horrendous prices?!

Actually, if not for the fact that this IS in pink and the unfortunate fact that this other one is Out of Stock, I think I would have gotten the other one instead! Cute ya? But then again, I think this will probably still be out of my choice since my DS is already skinned, having a casing with Mario won't show up well. But it is so cute right?! My favorite game!

Maybe, I should just go back to the skins webby and see if they have new stock... Mario? hahahahaha....

Dinner with Girlies

After so long, finally had the chance to meet up with my Girlies for dinner!

We went to Aji Teh in Bugis for Japanese Food.

We actually did not order a lot of food, 2 appetizers to share and then a main meal each.

But as usual as all girlies meeting, food is always secondary. The catching up and being in each others' pressence is the most important thing!

Been so long since I last met the 2 of them, really enjoyed ourselves very much too. =)

Wednesday, June 4

Come. Come. Share share la~

My lunch time Kaki and I have a long long craving for Nachos and Melted Cheese and we even went to search online for recipe but to no avail la, we did not manage to find a decent and simple recipe. We can of course easily go to Golden Village cineplexes to get it but it's so expensive and the given amount is so little, I "ngiow" heart pain lor. So have been searching for a more economical way of getting that melted cheese and I think my efforts are finally slowly begining to pay off.

During the Sunday canteen in my Church, there was melted cheese and nachos being sold. And I managed to find the vendor whose selling it.

The costs is about $25 for the frozen cheese, which can make about 1 pot of melted cheese. Each pot is approximately the size of a 10 cup rice cooker pot. Can satisfy my craving BIG time mann!

Vendor sells nachos as well at a much cheaper rate than outside, at $15 for a KILO!

The cheese comes sealed in a vacumned pack bag and can be left in room temperature as long as it's not open. Once opened, leave it in the fridge. To faciliate the 'eating' process, separate into smaller containers before leaving in fridge. Use a CLEAN & DRY spoon to scoop out necessary amount when necessary. Cheese comes ready to be eaten too! But, I do think warm cheese tastes much better, so can choose to heat it up before eating as well. The choice is open.

Anyone want? Let me know, I can arrange for it. I've already got 4 persons on my end and if you want it, let me know fast... coz I've been like looking around forever for a vendor to sell it and I'm gonna get it by this week!!!

Tuesday, June 3

Time to relax

I know I just came back from Phuket not too long ago and another title of "relaxing" seems to be just a tad overboard... But, I can only truly rest and relax after my exams at the end of every semester.

While waiting for results is the best time to enjoy as hard as I possibly can. Since the papers are already handed in, worry also no use anymore. And I believe by now, my paper is also being graded and hopefully moderated UP, no use worrying too.

Best to just pray hard and leave it to God, after all, I've already mug the best I could and done my best.

With all these thoughts in mind, the best way to wait for the exams results will be to do so while having fun. So, my girlies have made plans to meet up for eating, shopping and pure catching up sessions!

The first of which will start this Friday, then next Friday and the next next Friday! Whoo hoo.... I'm looking forward to all these sessions with them... Felt like ages since we last met up!

I LOVE Holidays. No studies, no lessons, no books, no rush, no assignments and the best of all, NO preparation of exams!

Whoo HOO!!!!
