Friday - 24 Jul

A special Friday lies in store for me and my 2 friends this evening!

But first things first, I still need to get through the day before the evening comes.

The lunch kaki and I haven't had lunch together for a really long time, with her hectic duties, and my more frequent of bringing lunches to work, it's really quite hard to meet her for lunch and so, we made plans to meet up for lunch today!

Went to J8, coz she needed to get something and I was on a buying-squeaky-boys-shoes-quest for a friend.

In the end, I did not manage to get the squeaky shoes, but instead, I got some cute outfits for her girl.So cute right! I love the small tees and the bubble pink shorts! Will look great on her girl. I would have gotten some for my God-daughter too, but the sizes are too small! *sigh*

Come evening, its time for Cindy, Amelia and myself to meet up! I've been so looking forward to it for the past week!

We were supposed to have dinner at KPO cafe and bar the new place in town.. but they do not accept reservations and we can't get a normal sit down table for dinner. Cin and I were there for a good 45 mins hanging out at the bar, hoping and waiting to pounce onto such a table when the chance presents itself. But no such luck.

*sigh*

Anyway, KPO is not the place for me. Been there. And I doubt I'll go back again.

We decided to go to coffee club express, and just nice Am arrived! Poor girl got a swollen eye, goodness knows what caused it. Hope, she's feeling better by now!

I think it's a good thing we had dinner at Coffee Club. More more comfortable and the night was breezy! We sat there the whole night chatting like old friends and we had a good time!

US!
The 2 of them turned up in white though nothing was said about dressing! I'm the odd one out!

And Thanks very much, Cin for the macroons. Jer and I enjoyed it very much!

Lunches

I've been preparing lunches for both the hub and myself more often these days...

Nothing fanciful, in fact, I think it's on the borderline of being unhealthy with the amount of processed food that I'm piling into our system!

Mixed Red, Brown & White Rice cooked with Corn, paired with NTUC's Popcorn Chicken (or chicken nuggets or chicken wrapped in seaweed), Diaso's Seaweed and Japanese Seasonings. Sounds unhealthy already, I know. But its simple to prepare in the morning la. So, I am really trying not to eat too much processed food.

A slightly healthier lunch for today...Mixed Red, Brown & White Rice cooked with Corn and Carrots, paired with steam chicken thighs.

These are all super easy to prepare in the mornings. I'm still experimenting with more variations to the veggies and meat. Must be simple and fuss free. Only food that either cook together with rice, steam or toaster oven friendly will be considered!

I had lunch with Jeff some time back and we had Sandwiches.Never heard of this brand before, but it's similar to Subway. But in terms of choices, Subway has more. Be it choices of bread, veggies or the various kinds of meat and even sauces!

I've already forgotten what I ordered. From the likes of it, some ham and the default veggies and don't know what sauce.

I also had a drink and a salad to complete the whole meal. The lettuce tastes a tad too old la.

I think price wise slightly more expensive than Subway as well. But in terms of ambiance, this place is much more comfortable with sofa seats and wide spaces.

1 thing that I find quite irritating at Subways is the way the chairs are all arranged back to back. Really is jam packed. I'm not exactly skinny la. So I find the seating so uncomfortable.

Ah... which reminds me, I'm going to Swensens for lunch with my colleagues later this week. Swensens have extended their lunch time promotion of 1-for-1 lei. Very worth ma.

Thing is got to go there early, else queue very long and then very rush to finish the food coz, service also slower lor.

Shoes

Hole in the sole of my URS...This happens to be my 3rd pair in this design from URS.. Why do I have 3 pairs?

Well, the 1st pair was stolen when it was in good, wearable condition though it does looks like it has gone through some battles so I got a 2nd pair.

2nd pair had a big hole on both sides so I got the 3rd pair.

And less than 2 months, 3rd pair is starting to tear!

ARGH!!!

So, I got 2 brand new pairs of shoes. Flatties, soft and comfortable!

It looks a little like the Crocs Mary Janes doesn't it? But it's only at a fraction of the price!

Grey Heels.
Looks black but it's grey. I don't have grey shoes heels la.

A little hard but still relatively comfy. And it looks and feel very chic. I like.

Best of all, these brand new 2 pairs costs merely $47 (storewide 20%) in total! Cheap and good!

Get it fromI think AMK HUB has another branch though I must say, I've NEVER seen it in HUB. I got both pairs at Orchard Central.

One last pair of shoes... White and Pink dress shoes, complete with sqeaky sounds. According to the SA, these sounds will encourage the BB to walk. If she says so lor. I'm not that sure lar...

Nah... not for myself.

For a little princess whose turning 1 soon.

I hope the size fits and I'll ask Mommy to snap shots with her princess in it.

2 little Indian Boys

This morning, I had a group of 13 India Indian boys, aged between 12 to 16 accompanied with 2 male India Indian teachers and 2 local India teachers for a visit to my campus.

Last minute, the Local teacher in charged decided that they should have lunch in my campus before leaving.

Hence, I went to make arrangements with one of my canteen operator for seats and tables for them.

After promising and making arrangements that I'll come back at 1.30pm to fetch them to the carpark, I left them alone and I went for lunch.

Fast forward to 1.30pm, I went to fetch them.

Somehow, something prompt me to make them do a headcount after we left the canteen. To all our shock and surprise, we are short of 1 little Indian boy!

Then began the panic and rush to look for this lost boy. My campus is huge ok! It's equivalent to the size of 60 football fields. Just where and how do we start looking for 1 boy?

None of his friends nor teachers can call him on his mobile because they don't have his number and they are from New Delhi, according to those present, they won't be able to reach him. Don't really understand.. but speaking to a group of India Indians and trying to understand what they say is tough. Very tough.

Some of the boys want to go and look for him. This gave me another shock. I lost 1, I don't want to loose another few. So together with the teachers, we told them to stay where they are and 2 teachers and I went to search.

After a frantic 20 mins search, my colleague called me, giving me some clue as to where this lost boy is.

I finally found him, seated comfortably in 1 of the admin offices in my campus. According to my colleague, he sounded ready to burst into tears.

Thank God my little Indian boy is found!

He got a bashing from his teachers and a great lot of teasing from his friends when he re-joined his group.

The poor boy must have been embarrassed.

Finally, manged to see them safely on the bus and send them on their way home.

During the tea break earlier on, another little Indian Boy came up to me and he said "Mdm, thank you for today. I would like you to have this" and he gave me gave me a little card with just 2 simple words "Thank You".

So sweet of the little boy right?!

This little boy is coming to 13 in Aug. He told me so himself.

The lost little Indian boy is not more than 15.

1 so sweet and 1 caused me to sweat.

Dinner Date

After so long, Amelia finally found a night where we both can have a leisure dinner and yak the night away kind of time.

We decided to meet up at Ikea, Alexandra, where we can have chicken wings and meatballs. whhahaha...

But surprisingly, I was not in the mood for meatballs so I went for the chicken wings instead.

Then we went on our way to Queensway Shopping Centre in a quest to find some nice sporty shoes. But, very very disappointing, the Nike Pair that I was aiming, was totally missing from the shelves!

I can't find it at all!

So, we decided to go over to Anchor Point to yak instead of walking around aimlessly since there was nothing in the shops that even seems remotely interesting.

We had some Japanese Mochi, Peanut Thick Toast and Lemon Tea in Xin Wang and yak till it was almost 10 and then we made our way home.

Amelia is so sweet! She made a little gift for me putting her new found knowledge in sewing to use. Handmade, Homemade Tissue Holder!

The print is so cute too! I love it. Thanks Amelia! =D

Oh... While I was waiting for Am at Queensway town MRT, a lady approached me. She introduced herself as a writer for some Mag and that she is looking for ladies aged between 24 to 35 (Heng, I fall into this category) on our opinions of Singaporean Men.

I failed at her next criteria. Single and UNmarried.

I honestly told her I was married and her response was a look of surprise and then "Oh. It's OK then. Thank you."

I take the look of surprise to be good. Meaning she thinks that I look too young to be married or *in my dream* looks too good to be tied down? whahahahha...

Shortly after, Am arrived and we merrily went on our way to Ikea and had a good ladies night! =)

Thanks Am again for the tissue holder. I like the color (yes, I don't just like PINK ok. I like BROWNS too!) and love the print. So cute and girly.

I think I used to have something similiar to that print but I lost it years back too. This reminded me so much of it!

Okok

THE Hub has been singing and playing this song on REPEAT mode.

So now, I hear "Annie Are You OK?
So, Annie Are You OK
Are You OK, Annie" in my sleep!

Duh....

I even heard it in my head first thing this morning, after I woke up!

Too much of Annie and if she's ok.

Overdose!

One of those days..

One of those days where I wake up in the morning and feel as though I've put on 10kg overnight, while in dreamland.

Where no matter what I wear, what different combinations that I try to come up with, or little things that try to hide that buldging piece of meat hanging in the middle, the fats seems to have congregated and all come out to torture me this early morning!

It just sticks out.

*sigh*

I guess it's a sign of PMS... also a cue for the Hub to be on his very very best behaviour else, there'll be lots of volcanos eruption these few days.

Sunday, June 28

Super Chio!

After mass with Hubby at St Joseph, we had dinner at the nearby coffee shop - Food Park.

Both of us had zi char but my bee hoon was so hard. I think I have indigestion after eating it! =(

Anyway, fast forward to after dinner, we were walking to City Hall MRT so as to catch the train to Orchard, we need to get to Taka to exchange some bed linen we bought last week.

Hubby noticed that Agnes B was having a storewide sale and he nudged me. Surprisingly, he even asked if I want to go in!

Woah. Such a change in nature lei. Of course must go in to take a look. And I'm so glad I did!

I scored for myself a very very pretty item! Baby Pink and in a tube!

The packageing already won me over.

Lippy? Nah!It's a pen! =)

So pretty and I love it! I can easily bring this around with me in my purse or into my pencil case.

Hubby commented, "New semester beginning so must have new pen har?"

Actually, I did not think of that, I was just interested in getting it for myself, the rest of the other reason don't matter much, once I get it, I'll find a way to use it.

Ohh. BTW, the 2 pics is taken with my Samsung Omnia - Macro function lei. Pretty clear isn't it?! I'm suitably impressed.

And there's even a 10% off with my citibank credit card, in the end, the pen is merely $13.50! Stylish on a dime too!

We went to Taka after that to exchange the fitted sheets to quilt covers because I realised we have a brand new set of fitted sheet but no quilt covers. So went back to exchange.

After that, we went to Tangs, in an attempt to buy a normal whistling kettle. Simple item right? But hor, NO lor. There is NO normal whistling kettle in the whole of TANGS! All they have are those electrical kettles.

*sigh*

We do badly need a new kettle. Ours, the screw holding the whistling bit and lid rust and the whole lid fell apart. Literally apart. My lid is now in 3 pieces.

Not that we being high class must go Tangs to get kettle la, is coz we have a $50 voucher to be utlised ma, so go there to find our much needed item ma. Save cost.

But cannot find. Duh.

Now, I must go somewhere to buy my kettle with cash.

Does anyone know if Isetan is having their sale soon? Their household is usually quite good and I'm sure I can fin a whistling kettle there. I got my spoilt one there. For that mere $30 odd, it lasted us for about 3 years. Ok la.

But this time, I'll be more careful about the lid... hopefully no screws.. Gosh.. I shudder with the amount of water that we boiled with the rusted screw.....

That's also the reason why we refuse to buy electrical kettle, that metal bit in there will rust and it's so obvious. Screw in the lid, at least I don't see it lor.... hm... if that's the case, then I think we should just get a normal kettle, then the lid won't have screws!

Then I think the lid will not fall into bits again, right?!

Saturday, June 27

a sign of old age...

I think a year ago or something like that, I had to reformat my old PC. And so, I had cut all the photos into a CD.

Now, I'm looking for some photos and I CANNOT REMEMBER WHERE ON EARTH I LEFT/KEPT that blessed CD!

Then, last week end, hubby and I was in town, we got lots of bed linen... and end up, I got extras of fitted sheets when ALL I need is quilt covers!!

Argh...

I must be getting old for all these to be happening to me!

*sobs*

Thursday, June 25

Back!

I'm finally back to Multiply!

Was almost sheer agony when my labby decided to retire early... I don't have access to Multiply in office and it's so tough and such a torture to not be able to come in!

Today, finally my brand new Fijitsu, L1010 in Pink Gold arrived, I'm desperately trying to install in some essentials programs and am on msn and multiply at the same time. =)

BLISS

Hai... But I din know installing the stupid Office 2007 will take soooo long. I've been sitting here for the last 20 mins and its still NOT done!

*tsk*

Cleared!

I surprised myself once again!

I managed to clear all my modules for my 5th semester, and not just cleared, I scored an amazing A- and 2 B+ for myself!

Of course, there are loads of people who helped me with my modules. Hubby, my classmates and also my friends for giving me encouragement all the way. Thank you, dear people. Really appreciated it very much.

But the most most most important of all is my big Boss up there. He blessed me with wisdom and helped me lots throughout the whole semester and especially so when he calm me during the dreaded exams.

The 1 in 3 and 3 in 1. Thank you, Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

I did well for all my past semesters and in my final semester, I will continue to do well with your kind blessings, wisdom and guidances.

Rave!

I've found an alternative to the Kate Eyeliner that I have been using for the past few months!

The SANA Extra Heavy Eye Liner!! I happened to be at Marina Square and I got this when John Little was having a good sale.

After all the discount, it was slightly less than $20 and it's better than Kate! At least in terms of ease of buying, I can easily get it locally. But of course, I'll wait till a good sale before I buy. =P

What I like is that, the black is really quite black and the brush is so easy to use! The brush is not round, more like flat and sharp. It draws perfectly!

2 coats and I'm ready. Best of all, it's able to stay on longer for lower lid too!

My new favourite eye liner!

The replacement.

I missed the PC show la.

The few seconds of crowd that appeared on the TV news nightly was reason enough for me to give the PC show a total miss.

The sis told me that though it is after the PC show, but there will still be worthwhile deals in the market. We made plans to go and look see and to get 1 such deal.

Hence, it is with much urgency that I really need to get the replacement, FAST.

Just before I left office (was on half day leave yesterday to go in search of that replacement), my boss came to know of my sorry plight and he told me that I can get the student/staff deal for the Fijitsu labby, which is acutally quite a good deal.. provided that I can stand the color.

The color in his mind is really offensive. And he said it with his nose wrinkled up and with sarcasm.

So I went to search for the deal thru our intranet.

And I found it!

Immediately, I placed an order for it online - even before I went to meet my sis to do labby shopping...

My new labby will have the follow specifications...

I don't understand MORE than half of the things up there.

I bought it because all the ppl I asked said that this was worth it.

Hence, my new labby.... The Fijitsu LifeBook, L1010 in PINK Gold.

Pretty right?!

It's the ONLY color under this promotion.

Dinner with UniSIM Gang

The semi annually dinner with the usual gang.

This time, our dinner is at Sakura located at Yio Chu Kang Stadium. With international spread, food was ok. My only grouse would be, it's very crowded! And we can't really chat well.

Photographer of the day, Mervyn. His little boy has grown so much. Very chatty for a 2++ year old. The mommy is preggy with no. 2, also a boy!

In attendance...Mervyn and his family, me, Sasa, WW and JD!

The usual gang.

Out of which, only Mer, Sasa and me are still mugging away, the other 2 guys have completed their studies in SIM!

I'm so envious! But!!! My day will come soon too!

Felt good to be able to catch up with them after so long. We usually do meet up after our exams every semester... kind of a ritual.

=D

Random

With so much time on my hands now... I can blog more often and be bo liao...

Shall do a picture post.

US... on our way to a wedding banquet at Expo. Wedding of hubby's primary school friend.

Cute BB girl we met at wedding.. Forgot her name already though. =(

A hand delivered breakfast from a dear friend.
Green Tea puff or something like that.

MESSY dining table full of my notes and stationery!

That pig cute hor?! From Cafe Cartel. Buy 2 don't know what ribs and get it free.

The brown thing underneath my notes and pens is a 3000pc jigsaw puzzle of "The Last Supper" which hubby painstakingly pieced - we place the puzzle there for 3 reasons... 1) Very apt ma. Dining table and Last Supper. 2) Coz we can't find a frame of the right size. 3) Too expensive to custom make the frame... the frame will costs us more than the puzzle.... the puzzle was like under $50... a custom made frame that size will be at least in the hundreds range.

Still have some more. But I'm tired. Another time when the mood strikes again.

I've been Busy.

Been very very busy for the last few days and nights!

Catching the Korean F4 online - Boy Over Flowers. GOSH! They are so gorgeously cute! How come there's such good looking guys?!

The story is very similar to the Taiwan's Meteor Garden staring Big S and F4 (Taiwan). But in many ways, the Korean version is better.

Love it!

I've been sleeping late just so that I can catch as many episodes of this show as possible. And I've finally finished the drama.

These guys are all so cute! I love Gu Jun Pyo, the equivalent of Dao Ming Si and absolutely love love love Ji Hoon, whose the equivalent of Hua Ze Lei. He's so much better than Lei, who speaks as though he has no energy and can't breath.

Oh my... I'm feeling a little sad. Coz I've finished the show and all the follow ups... =(

Such a nice, sweet drama!

First Weekend after Exams =)

and I'm feeling very very happy!

With no exams and nothing to worry about, it feels sooooo good to be able to do whatever I want and not hit the books at all!

But first thing first, it's time that I go get my pap smear done. It;s already long overdue. Though I still feel a little shy about doing paps but also no choice. =/

Appt with Dr Kenneth Lee at Mt A was at 9am. He seemed glad to see hubby and myself and the very first qn he asked was, "GOOD News yet?"

heh! He seems more excited than us or maybe that's his nature of his job?

Anyway, he did the pap and an ultrasound for me.

Verdict from the Ultrasound was good. He said everything looks good and normal. And it seems that my inside are ready for that seed and egg to grow. That is WHEN the seed does meet the egg la.

And he very excitedly tell us to work hard before we left and that Christmas is a good and nice time to make some babies.

Heh. I was a little too stumped to reply.

After leaving his clinic, hub and I went for a late breakfast, then headed home for a rest and we went to catch Night at the Museum 2.

Nice and funny. But not as fantastic as the first movie.

Had dinner at Illuma and then we just take a walk around and I got myself a shift dress at Nichi!

Been a long time since I last bought any dresses or go shopping. A black dress which if perfect for work.

Had coffee at Gloria Jeans. Service sucks. Food sucks as well. I really don't like GJ. Yucks.

We just sat there and chat. Been such a long time since we can have such a relax, un-hurried and book-free weekend!

Must really enjoy my holidays before the next term starts again.

Monday, May 18

MIA

I've gone missing for almost a complete month. No updates no nothing. Though most can still find me on msn...

And I guess 1 word will explain everything.

The magic word?

EXAMS.

Completed 1 paper last Wed and truth be told, I wrote and I wrote and I wrote. Yet, I still wrote some more. By the end of the 3 hour stunt, my hand felt limp and my knuckles felt bruised.

I was still nursing the bruised knuckle and stiff wrists right up to Friday!!

Hubby in a matter of fact voice commented, "Who ask you to write so hard? Already told you, no need to write so hard what. See la. Now your hands are all tired and sore."

Taking a breath, he continued bestowing me with his gems of wisdom, "Got ink come out can already what. Can see can already la."

So very very encouraging.

Anyway, this time tomorrow will be my last paper for this semester and then, I can really go ahead and have and enjoy my holidays!

Wish me good luck, ok, Good People.

Tml's paper has another name... known as the "Killer Paper" in the Biz Students Level 3 module - a term even the tutors themselves, agree.

How encouraging and motivational, don't you think?

Loots from Japan

The sister went to Japan and came back over the weekend.

And with her return, came all my loots too! My loots! Carted all the way back from Japan by the sis!

My Bday present from her.
A Bling Bling Agnes B Bag Charm. At this moment, it's already hanging on my bag. =) The bling very contrast to the jet black of the bag!

I asked my sis to help me buy some tea leaves so that I can have nice tea in office using my cute little teapot.. and she got me something in a circular container...

For a while, I thought she bought coasters back! And I was just wondering if I had mentioned to her I want a set of coasters from Japan.... But I honestly don't remember doing so lei.

And so ripping the green paper bag, I found a round round metal container.

Japan things are always so nicely packed and presented!

Shake.. the sound don't sound too paper nor metal lei. Cannot be coasters lor.

Read: Mimosa.

Heh! Mimosa are not those triangle crispy things with potatoes that we eat as snacks or tea meh?

And so, this is Mimosa black tea with Mimosa flavor.

Er... Just what on earth is it? I have no idea.

The sis's comment was "I don't know nice or not, but it smells nice la"

Ok... I guess that's reasonable enough.. If it was me, I would have done the same kind of test before buying. If it smells good, it should not taste too bad!

Will do review after I've tasted it. It says "Highest Quality Teas" too... I won't really know since I'm not kind of tea expert.

She also got me a pack of Nato beans. I've tried some in Isetan before and asked her to get some back. Nato beans are health food according to what I've read.

And in Japan lei! How can I forget my cosmetics! The new MM mascara and another palate of eyeshadow. I forgot to include the Kate eyeliners into the picture.. but nvm.

I'm quite sure these MM are cheaper in Japan as compared to SG. Each of this item would set me back by at least SGD25. The sis haven't bill me for the cosmetics.. but I'm 100% sure it's cheaper la.

She also got me a Minnie Mouse Stylus which is meant for the DS but I'm hanging it on my Omnia coz I use hp more often as compare to DS. No time to play game ma. But I need to use my hp on a daily basis ma.

The last of the lot.

Fancl, Mild Cleansing Oil (MCO). Cannot blame me. Fancl IS from Japan lor. So of course buy from there. The MCO having some sort of promotion I think. With the purchase of 2 bottles, it comes with a limited edition pink pouch which SG don't have...yet.

But the pouch is also nothing much la. Just maybe good for bringing those bottles of skincare overseas or for nights away.

But it's PINK and it looks cute!!
