I'm down. Officially.

After coughing for more than a week.... I finally went to the doctor this morning.

Doc's verdict.

She: "Some bacterial infection that will get worse. Got to take antibiotics to fight it off. Will give you cough med for the cough and some runny nose tablets."

Me: "But, I don't have a running nose, just nasal congestion and lots of back flow."

She: "Then you take twice a day instead of 3 times a day. It's to prevent the back flow and to clear the congestion as well."

Me: "oh... ok."

She: "Rest for today, tomorrow when you go back to work, should be better."

Me: "Can I have tomorrow off as well? My colleagues are down too."

She: "Ok."

So... yes, I'm down. 2 days MC. Today and tomorrow. Which means I'll have a long weekend, which gives me time to do my stupid Econs individual project.

And my pocket is $41 poorer!

Goodness!

Changing Skincare

I've had enough of the foam forming everyday! It's really a torture in the mornings when I'm so hard pressed for time!

Hence, I've finally made the painful decision to ditch Fancl and move on to something else. I've been trying to find something that's good and priced reasonably... But am not willing to try The Face Shop, Skin Food nor those from Body Shop... Somehow, I don't quite trust their products especially skin care. Cosmetics ok. But definitely not skincare which I rely on heavily. I'll rather pay more and to get better.

Cindy came back and reviewed that her range is good and she really swears by it. So. Ok. I'm changing.

Vitasence. My new skincare products.

I'm getting the basic skin care set, Cleansing Mousse, Revatalising Tonic (Tonner), Day and Night moisturizer. On top of that, I'm getting an extra bottle of the Total make up remover. Not that Fancl's not good. Just that Fancl's can't remove my Kate eyeliner and MM mascara completely and totally. I've got to use a separate eye make up remover before using Fancl. Troublesome lor!!! I was told that Vita's make up remover works the same way but all traces of make up are removed effortlessly! It's definitely worth my trial then.

Price wise, it may seem more pricy than Fancl now, since I'm going to spend close to $200 on it. But, it's bigger and when compared the size to the dollars of that of Fancl's, it works out to be pretty much the same.

Don't believe? Do a price and size comparision then! Based on the prices that Cindy can get for me at 25% off for Vita and based on 10% off if I were to get from Fancl... and of course I cannot get the exact same measurement.. but roughly it's like the table basing on similiar quantity.

I did the comparision as fair as I could and cost wise, Vita is proven to be much better with about $17 savings just on my basic items alone! And some items are in bigger sizes as compared to Fancl's!

Best of all, Vita even has delivery service lei! All I need to do is ask Cin to key in orders for me online and the items can be delievered the next working day!

The only thing is that coz I am changing everything, so it's about $200 as "start up costs."

But nevertheless, I'm changing and that's it! The table only serves to bring out the contrasts. But if you are a Fancl user, no offense. It's me in wanting a good and cheaper deal. =P

Edited to add...

The highly efficient Cindy has made orders for me and I'm just sitting at home trying to do my econs and waiting for the delivery at the same time.

Pretty excited about it coz the packaging are quite nice and simple. Just white with black text and the bottles are really quite clean and attractive. Rounded and smooth. hee..

Price wise, with 25% is definitely worth getting... slightly cheaper to Fancl too!
My loots this time... 6 items.

Getting organized in 2009.

My first step in getting organized is to get an organizer.

A weekly notebook ought to do the trick!

2009 Soft Weekly Notebook Pocket 12M

144 pages / 9x14cm / acid-free paper
Innovative layout displaying each week of the year across a double page spread. On the left: a week appointments at a glance; on the right: additional space for notes, doodles and anything else you fancy.

HK$98.00

Actually, every year w/o fail, I'll get an organizer, but this year, a friend gave me one but I find it rather bulky and hence never really used it.

I'm anal about organizers....
1) Must be either a weekly spread over 2 page or a Monthly thing over 2 page
2) Most preferred size is 18 x 10 or so.
3) Portable

This meets 2 of my criteria.

Hence, I've just made an order for a pocket organizer from Moleskine Asia. er... I joined a spree to get the item. But it's in HKD. After conversion and postage, it's $21. I think quite reasonable since I'll be using it for an entire year.

Eagerly waiting for it... thru the snail mail. =)

Strong Chloe's Virus??

I'm sick....been feeling like this ever since the crab dinner last Saturday (which I haven't had the chance to blog a full entry on it yet).

Started off with a lil' sore throat, then progressively worsen, which gave me a very dry cough that irritates my throat no end and a lil' runny nose.

What amazes me is that I think I caught it from BB Chloe and this little baby here must have caught some mighty potent virus (from where??!) to be able to pass it on to her mommy and me too!

WOW!

And I thought I'm pretty strong... a little baby sure showed me!

But then again, it could that I'm already beginning to be sick just that it became worse after contact with Chloe? Not sure.

But my conclusion is, if just like this and I'm feeling lousy, then it must be bad for BB Chloe and it will be much much worse for the mommy who has to take care of her!

Poor Chloe. Poor Mommy. Poor me.

agnès b. voyage

1 word.

MINE!!!

wahahahahahahahahahaha.....

and when did I get it? Only last week. Friday to be exact.

This baby costs me $149 and some cents... I've been leeming for an agnès b. for some time already and since they were having a 10% storewide and a further 15% off for Taka cardmembers, I can't resists! =)

Big enough for me to throw in everything I need for class or on shopping trips!

Loving it!

A lil' cheeky boy and a box of sweet treat

For a long time, we have not been going to CTK (my parish church) for mass, we've been hopping around, frequenting Holy Spirit Church, reason being, going there and getting back by bus is such a breeze, helps that the priests there are also better than my parish.

But, yesterday, we decided to go to CTK and it was good that we went.

1 of our friend was doing the RCIA canteen and we had free breakfast, not supposed to be the way la, since they are raising funds and we should pay for food, but the kind friend decided to blanja us, so be it lo. =)

And also met up with another friend in CTK for mass. Been a long time since we last met and wow. Her lil' boy has grown so much! Very cheeky lil' boy and full of antics!

I guess, at his age, he can't sit still. He's moving and moving and moving. Hence, all the blurred photos. I can't get a decent shot. Up and down the pew he goes.

Soo busy!
And when he realised that we are playing with him and then stopped, he'll tease u to continue to play with him. Very cute! And he was having a good time playing peek a boo with another boy seated behind us.

Towards the end of the mass, he noticed another pregnant lady seated beside us and he went over to pat and sayang her tum tum! So sweet! I guess, it's a good sign so when his mommy is pregnant with a number 2, he'll still be so loving!

A handful now, but he's so cute and adorable! Daddy M is so proud of him, when I told hub that he's so cute, the daddy nodded with a smirk and mumbled a "yes." hee... now come to think of it, not sure if the lil' boy is cuter or the daddy is cuter! ha...

And the mommy gave me a box of sweet treats... so pretty hor the box...full of pretty, colorful sweet treats!Whoo.... Macarons!!

The mommy told me its Limited Edition lei. Woah....Edibles also got "Limited Edition"?

Will slowly enjoy and savour each and every piece.

Thanks again, mommy L!

Studies

I realized for this semester, I did not blog much about my studies. Maybe it's the novelty of blogging is starting to wean off, maybe my life is such a bore and hence so predictable that I have nothing to update or maybe, my studies is such a mess that I'm too ashamed to blog.

Whatever the reason, I'm going to blog on my studies, at least I will try to..

Took 3 modules this sem, 2 Econs (Managerial and International) and a Communications module (which is a total fluke! and I simply hate the tutor)... Will be having 2 exams and 1 individual project at the end of this sem.

Got terrible grades on the Communications TMA, which I still think its the damn tutor's fault. And there goes my hope for an "A" for this module, not even sure if I can get a "B"! *angry*

Did reasonably well for the Managerial Econs quiz and group project, if I can continue to do so well for exams, B is not an issue.

Internation Econs. Ah. That IS the headache that I am facing right now.

How am I going to produce an Economics Report on "Wheather or not should ASEAN have a common currency"? DAMN. AND research materials are to date all the way from 1997!!!!!!!

I am soooo dead. D.E.A.D

Dilemma!

I got to choose my modules for the next semester in another few days and I now have a dilemma... Which is brought about because SIM revamped ALL the modules, I had already previously more or less decided on what and how I want to clear my modules... but with this stupid change by SIM, my plans are all thwarted lor!

So now, the dilemma....

Should I fill my semester 5 with
Package 1:
1) Core - Financial Instruments, Institutions & Markets, 5 cu(project)
2) Core - Financial Management, 5 cu (exam) and
3) Core - Strategy, 10 cu (exam)
Total: 20 cu

leaving my 3 communications modules electives (1 project and 2 exams) in my last semester? Total of 15 cu

Or I should fill semester 5 with
Package 2:
1) Core - Financial Instruments, Institutions & Markets, 5 cu (project)
2) Core - Financial Management, 5 cu (exam) and
3) Electives - The Critique and Evaluation of Discourse, 5 cu - which I dislike but no choice as there's non other electives that's available to me for the coming semester! (exam)
Total: 15 cu

leaving Strategy (Core) and 2 communication module (electives), which will be 2 exams and 1 project for the last semester? A grand total of 20 cu.

The catch is, for every semester,
1) I don't want to take more than 2 exams.
2) Strategy, is meant to be taken in the FINAL semester as it's case studies based and lessons are on 3 or 4 Sundays over the semester, so am not sure if SIM will allow me to take it in my 2nd last module too.
3) Actually, I was also hoping for a lighter load for Semester 6 as then, last semester, already not much mood to study.
4) The elective modules I wanted are only offered in July 2009 and July 2010!

I wanted to do less modules when I am doing the Strategy as I've already heard that it's a killer module, but looking at the modules available, there's no chance of it happening already! =(

And the worse worse situation is since I dislike the The Critique and Evaluation of Discourse module, I can only choose to do just the Finance modules in Semester 5, take the elective modules in Semester 6 and then add 1 more semester just for the Strategy! - This option is the last of my choice, hubby's last choice too. He would have finished in Apr 09 and I have to do 1 more year as compared!!

At the moment, I seem to prefer Package 1... But I'm worried that I cannot manage the Strategy la... especially when I already have 20 cu of exemptions hence lots of the things I already forgot.... and Strategy is a COMBINATION of EVERYTHING!!!

Either way, when I do my Strategy, I got to do it with another 2 modules, no way to siam too... I should "suffer now and enjoy later" or should I do the reverse???

Hai......

This have to happen just when Hubby and I have decided to try to make a child next year.

ARGH!!!!!!

Gaming on my DS Lite

Another Mario Game that got me hooked.Line and sinker. Everything.

Very cute game lor! Wind up all the mini Marios and get them thru the golden door! Defeat Donkey Kong in the process and save the damsel in distress, Pauline.

I'm already at the last floor (not sure if there's other lifts)... just finding a way to defeat the floor 8, DK!

Long long ago with long long hair...

I've been keeping my hair crop short for a few years now... and I can hardly remember the time where I need to tie or dry or comb and goodness knows what else I need to do to my hair...

But, I rememeber I've rebonded my hair before, maybe twice or trice in my entire life. I remember sprouting the super flat head of hair after that and the monthly hair treatments and special shampoo. But HOW I actually look... I can't remember.

So roughly, and because I promised to show a friend how I look with long straight hair, here it is.

I think this was not long after the rebond, should be in year 2001 or 2002 ba... flat and straight. Hubby, then boyfriend called me 扁 扁 头 (which literally translates into "Flat Flat Head") lor. Acutally hor, I hate hair at this length the MOST! VERY hot yet, not long enough to tie up and worse, after rebond, CANNOT tie up else will leave a mark! But what I do like is that the hair covers up my fat cheeks... making me look a tad slimmer! =)

Aiyoh... That hubby hor, looks so skinny!!! Heng, now fatter liao. Else make me look even fatter!!

Longer hair liao... looks good hor, makeup, not hair, not face.

I went to a free make up at Make Up Forever as a friend was working there then... she did my make up. I like the way she defined my eyes. =) So after that, went to take photo.

I think hubby in NS then... hair so short. heehee...

On our pak tor 5th anniversary in 2003, Longest hair length ever!Aiyoh... looked so pale. I think I was sick then and this was definitely before I learned how to do make up lor. Face like shits mann. But this was my longest hair length before I brutally chopped it off! ha! Think was abit sad then but I seriously had enough of the hair drop, the tangle, the endless things to do to my hair.

But hor, after I chopped off my hair, I began to turn to make up and skincare and cosmetics... hee.. hengs, I did not do hair and face together lor. Else lagi more broke!

So in a way, after I have no long hair to occupy my time and energy, I turned to my face, spent lots on it to make it look less shitty!

I think around then, we began to talk about wedding and marriage la, so I thought to myself, people will see my face more than hair la. So ok. Take more care on the face.

And yes, like anything I do, the moment I decided on it, I spent LOTS of moolah and I really meant lots on it. Was using nuskin, then don't know what else la. Forget already. hee...hee.. but now, the craze is sort of over. Older already, sort of just stick to what works and not so garang to take my face to experiment anymore.

Morever with more committments now, instead of expensive things, I'm just using Fancl. More affordable lor.

If you can't tell, all these are the lovegety cards la. It was THE rage then ma. So, being like any youngsters off the road, we also must go n take! Plus, we don't own our camera then la. Just started working for me and hubby was a "chao small soldier" doing his duty for the nation. Where got moolah to buy nice nice camera.

So yes... for the few short years definitely not more than 3, I had nice long hair. Straight and long. But very little. =( That's the main reason why I so brutally chopped it off, else I think I'm botak by now.

Happy already, dear friend? U know who u are lor. No need to spell out right? hahahahahaha

Books Craze!

Just 1 statement.

I WANT em' all!!!

Confessions of a Shopaholic.

Shopaholic takes Manhattan.

Secret dreamworld of a Shopaholic.

Each retailing at $17.12 at bookstores.

Then I can safely say, I'll have the whole collection of "Shopaholic" series. The reason why I did not get these titles was because, I got the rest of the other 5 titles (Shopaholic & Sister, Shopaholic ties the knot, Shopaholic & Baby, The Undomestic Goddness and Can you keep a secret at 1-for-1. Meaning, 2 titles at $17.12! I would have bought these remaining ones but it was not available fore 1-for-1!! VERY sad!)

Latest release...Remember me? Retailing at $34++

OH! Not forgetting this one.

Tales of Beedle the Bard, standard edition.Yes!! Harry Potter. This book is mentioned in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Where Hermione was given this book, or rather willed this book by Dumbledore and she began to discover the story of the Hallows and the 3 of them learnt of Harry's true ancestry and defeated Voldemolt.

Beetle the Bard, collectors' item... freaking USD $100! =( Hmm.. The local edition does not look like any of these but like this... blueish... $20.28. But whatever la... Kiddish or Collectors or Blue la.

I'm positive I want ALL these titles! Maybe not ALL all la, all the Sophie's books and just any 1 copy of the Beedle.

Whoopee!!!

My favorite mascara is now available in SINGAPORE!!!

Majolica Majorca!

Which means, I won't need to stock up. Which means, I can get it easily anytime I want. Which means, I can test the other gorgeous products that I've been lemming but never dared to try. Which means, I don't have to trouble people to get it for me when they travel to Japan or Hong Kong anymore!!!

28 locations all over Singapore. =)3 reasons I love MM mascara.
1) The packaging is so cute and girly!
2) It's cheap!
3) I love the comb for the mascara instead of the brush! =) Need I say more?

Goody Goody!! Now I can test the rest of their products too!

Webby here! (and in English! They used to only have it in Japanese!) But surfing their site takes some patience and skill... it's like a story theme. I LOVE the site to bits too! It's very unique and different from the usual sites.

I just hope that it will not be too expensive! I definitely won't pay more than $25 for the mascara as I can get it at $18 if I beg someone to bring it back for me lor....

But then again.... if I really need, and no one can get for me, then a beggar has not much choice too right?

Purchase!

I went to the Isetan Private Sale on Thursday with my sisters and mom... and I was devastated when I did not manage to buy anything!

My mom and sister actually managed to buy a bag each! And me, this shopping queen did not buy anything. I was soooooo sad! VERY VERY sad lei. No skincare, not even cosmetics and not even a single piece of clothing lei!

Anyway, in a desperate attempt to GET something, we even walked over to Robinsons after our High Tea at Carousel... and this time, my other sister got something! While I still get NOTHING!!!

SAD till..... and I thought I am loosing my status as shopping queen... All I wanted was buy a bag or comfy shoes and NOTHING! argh!

BUT!!! THIS changed! =)

Behold! My new purchaseS! =)

No bags. But does not matter, I've got nice and comfy shoes now. But the damage is a massive $201.60 for both pairs lei. =(

Close up view of 1st pair....

Clarks Originals, Patented Leather (Which reminds me a little of sweet next door girl) and I really really love it!

Fell in love with it the moment I saw it but the price deterred me.

But the moment, I tried it on.. I was sold.

I HAD to get it!

and I especially LOVE the flower on the straps. It's a rubberized flower lei though it looks a little like felt. But it's not.

Pretty right?! =)

It's a whopping $138 lor!!!!

But it's really very comfy (with a 2+ inch heel - yet once I wear it, I don't even feel the strain on my knees or on the sole of my flat feet!) and with a rubberized sole, I can wear this even on the most slippery ground and I still won't slip!

It kind of reminds me of the kind of shoes that I used to wear (minus the heels) the sweet sweet cute cute kind of shoes.. hahaha.. does brings back some memories!

2nd Pair...
I used to think that Scholl's designs are very auntie hence I've never bought anything from them before though I do know that their shoes are comfortable. But the designs are really CMI la. The aunties in my office wears it and I've yet to see any pair that looks decently wearable for me.

I first saw this pair (in bronze) in J8, Seiyu. But it was retailing at $80 lei. So I did not buy.

Was at Scholl in Thomson and it's the last pair in black (bronze was already out of stock!) and having 20% off! I can't miss it already!

It's comfy, there's even a cushion ball at the ball of my sole..

Though the black looks a little too common and actually a little auntie but well, it's decent and it's wearable for me to go office in my attire.

And to console myself, black is versatile lor, can easily match whatever I am wearing!

On a side note, I was surprised that hubby did not flip with my purchases.... in fact, he said, "well, if it lasts and comfortable, it's worth it. Better than you keep buying different different shoes lor."

Woah. Coming from hubby... its' RARE!

I've decided, if these 2 pairs really lasts and as comfortable as I sound in the long run, I will go back to buy my shoes in future. And I do like this SA. She's so professional! I was just describing the Scholl pair to her and she can immediately tell and point me to the exact pair! And recommend me the right ones too.

I'm impressed.

I guess, if not for her, I definitely will not get the Clarks pair.

The Shopping Queen STILL reins! =D

If only it's true...

I remembered VERY well was Hubby and me flying off to Hong Kong for a holiday, in fact, Today.

It seemed too good to be true and I kept asking hubby if it's true, that we are leaving. And his reply was always, "YES."

As I was happily still reliving the impending holiday, I heard a familiar sound. The sound of the alarm clock and when I opened my eyes. I was not at the airport but at home. On. my. bed. complete with a still snoring hubby, whom I can hardly see as he was engulfed by the blanket.

What a disappointment.

So, no holiday. Impending or otherwise. =(

The only thing thats real is our tenant forgot to bring her keys after locking the door and when hubby opened the door to leave for work, he saw her bunch of keys hanging from the lock.

So, we should just be thankful that no one came in to rob or kill us in our sleep.

Thursday, September 4

same same wan...

A case of "All children behave like this." Myself and the hubby inclusive!

Don't you remember how we used to step on the slit like opening located along the whole strech of corridors of your parent's home when we were this age?

I remembered it soo well!

I'll step on that opening and pasting my face thru the opening to try to look out along the corridor!

The funny thing was, hubby was just telling me how he used to do it with his brothers when they were young, stepping on the concrete opening and looking out / down... and the very next day, Clara's mommy sent me this msm! I think their place don't have those concrete openings, it's replaced with metal grillings but can see everything. Not like the wall blocks off most things...

I wonder if Princess will want to climb those grills....

Day out with Tri!

We both decided we needed a girl's day out and the best date was yesterday, 2 Sep.

She's the early riser, I'm not. So, we compromised and arranged to meet at the nearby coffee shop at my plc for breakfast at 10. I estimated that we’ll take about 30 mins and then from there, we can take a bus straight down to town and arrived around 11am.

What I did not predict was the sudden gush of wind that almost blew leaves into our drinks and food nor the slight rain that greeted us when we reached Far East Square. Other than that, we were right on time!

1st stop after the ride, CK Tangs! I wanted to check out the Benefits Cosmetics and she wanted to look around. Just as well, since we have almost the whole day, we’ll just come up with the plans along the way then. But we do have some “MUST do” before the end of the day. 1) Check out Benefits. 2) Check out the Mooncake Fair at Taka. 3) High Tea reservation at Carousel at 3.30pm. The in betweens, we’ll find it up when we come to it. =)

We could actually sit down on the counter stools at Benefit and try the items at our leisure with the SA giving us comments and explanations. No rush, no crowd, no squeezing and no need to fight for items. I LOVE this kind of shopping! After grabbing a copy of the local catalogue from the SA, we left and went upstairs in search of specifically, a Bday present for both our guys. Their Bdays are 1 year and a few days apart. So, Tri and I can shop together in the quest of the perfect present.

Anyway, we did not manage to get anything there and we went off to Taka. But, I did saw a nice pair of sandals at a whooping $59. Which I can’t get out of my head for the whole day after that.

Stores and stores of Mooncake, some very high class, some not so. I’m not a mooncake fan. I find it a waste of moolah to pay $50 for a box of 4 big lumps of “ling yong” which I don’t even enjoy! But the reality of the world is, regardless of whether hubby and I like it or not, we got to still buy 2 boxes for the parents.

Most of the time, I don’t even sample. I just look for the most reasonably priced packaged box, would be even better if it comes in some branded name. Else, I’ll just take whichever my friends / colleagues recommend. Anyway, my side is easier, as the entire family only eats the Yam Mooncakes. So, used to get from Crown Prince, but closed down ma. So, I’ve been getting from this bakery at Aljunied through Ah Teck.

This year, Jeff said his company is bringing in Maxim’s Mooncakes… so just as well, I’ll probably just get 1 or 2 boxes from him. Save me the hassle of going to sample, look, see and search. =/ All these mooncakes tastes the same lei. Got difference meh?

Still no signs of the presents for the guys all through Taka. But I got my favorite, 猪仔饼!

Every mid autumn festival, I only look forward to eating this! And must be this brand… the rest not so nice. $4 each hor. Expensive lor. But I like it. Hubby said, he'll buy for me wan, so this $8, I'm going to do a claim. whahahahaha....

Crossed over to Paragon coz the girlfriend wanted to look at don’t know what. Forget already. And a good thing, we went in. Saw “RAOUL” and I finally bought Jer’s present. A shirt. I think quite nice la. Wanted to get a matching tie from there too though the tie costs a whooping $89! So, thank God, all the existing stock were not in good condition. A loose string or frayed something. So, just got the shirt and will get the tie from Tangs later.

Then we walked to Scotts for the high tea. And silly stupid me! Remembered the wrong time lei! We both walked so fast hor, reached there at 2.30pm and the person said only seated at 3.30!!!

PIANGZ!

So, the next best place, check out DFS lor. High Class place. We bought nothing, but we sure enjoyed walking into every stall and act Tai Tai! =) She saw a LV card holder. If I ever think that my COACHie card holder is expensive, it’s nothing compared to the LV one. It’s 4 times the price of my COACHie, at a very impressive $420.

Finally, finally, we managed to get our seats in Carousel. Rested our poor poor tired and aching legs. Luckily, there are having 1-for-1 with any DBS cards, if not for that I think it’s a waste of our time!

The food used to be very good. I’ve gone before. But now, the quality sucks! BIG TIME! There’s not much variety and coming from a hotel, I would expect the food to be at least warm, if not, HOT! But some of the items are barely warm, in fact, almost on the cold side!

And the queue. Ah… Singaporeans really are good at queuing… or jumping queue for the matter. There’s no clear indication where is the beginning or ending. AUNTIES and UNCLES just cut into my queue. SO DAMN IRRITATING can!

Conclusion? Pay peanuts get peanuts. But hor, we did not really pay peanuts too lei. The bill works out to about $15 each still! And for the quality and variety…. I will say, if don’t have 1-for-1, DON’T bother to go!

Service. Not too bad. Though, we do get missed out at first coz we were at the corner. But after the waitress realized we were there when we asked for our tea, she did not forget us again. Plates were cleared quite fast too. Only thing that irked me a little was the bill was sent to us when we 1) did NOT ask for it. 2) we were halfway through our meal. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is not exactly polite or acceptable right? We have not finished lei, why make us pay so fast? Scared we run off?

So, all in, minus the super kaisu aunties and uncles who jump queue and head waiter that is afraid that we run off with a free meal, the $15 is still ok la for the food. Got appetizers, sashimi (2 kinds), soba noodles, nasi lemak with chicken wings, eggs, fried fried things, chicken congee, chicken kebap, mee siam and some other small things la. They do have a big chocolate fondue and a few varieties of cakes. I think about all lor.

After the meal, we need to walk again, to work off those calories. Headed to Tangs to get the matching Tie and here, I decided to get my sandals.

$59. My MOST expensive pair of sandals. But I like it as it’s really very comfortable and looks so good too! Trying to come up with some outfits that I can wear to work too! Hahaha….

The girlfriend wanted to check out IORA as well, so we went through the underpass back to Wisma and we both tried LOADS of clothes. But hor, NONE, absolutely NONE, not even a single piece did we buy lei. Kind of disappointed lor. Sigh…..

Since, we are not due to meet our men for another 30 mins or so, we walked around Isetan Wisma and here…. We struck GOLD!

Tri saw a CK Jeans dangling from the hanger and did a double take. And it’s only $80+ after a 40% disount lei!

But shits man.. LAST Piece! The SA then called up Isetan Scotts and heng ar! Got 2 brand new piece lei. We reserved it and we practically ran all the way from Wisma to Isetan Scotts. Practically coz, it was beginning to drizzle again and we have to stay to the sheltered walkways…. We were thinking if we should go thru the underpass when we think we can brave the rain since its only a drizzle….

Reached Isetan Scotts doubly fast, with me in the lead zooming in and out of the crowd and Tri closely behind. She’s not that good at “opening ways” among crowds, I’ve had loads of practice, and I daresay I do a better job. =P

Finally, finally, got our precious piece each!Damn happy lor. Still got another 3% discount on top of the 40% lei!For my equally precious notes or labby when I need to bring it to class! =)

We were both running late at meeting our men and hurry back to the MRT station. My poor hubby has been waiting for at least 15 mins to go back to my in laws’ place for dinner. Of course, I did not eat much la. Just munch on something for show.

The best bit came when after dinner, we were just watching TV and the FIL suddenly said, "Today is Mama's Bday." (MIL was at the hospital to accompany granny, hence did not even see her.

HAR?! MY MIL's Bday?! Great. We both totally forgot! But, I think, since the granny in the hospital, though is recovering, no one will really be in a mood to celebrate? Anyway, no news from OBIL to say celebrate or what so leave it lor.

I was pretty excited to give him his present but have to wait till we go home la. He opened it and his eyes widen… coz though he had guessed what it was, he did not expect it to be in this shade... hahaha…

He tried on and to my dismay… TOO BIG! So sad.

Luckily, the SA told me, can bring back to exchange within 7 days. Ok… another trip to Paragon on Thursday, after work.

And back to my MIL, I reminded Hubby to give her a call later at the night to at least wish her a Happy Bday. =/ Not much, but I think better than nothing lor.

Monday, September 1

The start of many nights.

The Hubby is taking on 3 modules for this semester so that he can clear his entire course by Apr 09. He started A YEAR later than me and he's ending ONE SEMESTER earlier than me!

Damn. Depressing.

And in addition to this, he'll be having lessons 3 nights a week... which currently should be falling on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. My own class will be on Wednesday.

Just too good to be true isn't it?!

We'll hardly get to see each other AT ALL on weeknights.

So, yes, I'm very free for the next few months especially on those nights that I sit here waiting for him to come home and pouring through my own notes and texts and wondering what time he is going to reach home. =/

I actually don't mind these silent moments at home, anyway I hardly get to enjoy the house when it's just me alone.... (the tenant does not count, since she hides in her room even when she's home) I think I should be pretty happy since I can just do what I want and no one to fight table space with.

But after all these months of seeing hubby so often, in fact, almost every weeknight, the realization of only seeing him on Friday seems a little foreign at the moment.

But I'm sure I'll get the hang of it and maybe after his this very packed semester, I may even grow to miss this solitary moments where its just me, my notes, my texts, my PC and the radio! =)

Edited on 3 Sep to add: The Hubby says, having classes for 2 straight nights and having to work is too tiring. (AND I've TOLD him the exact thing before but he don't take my word for it) so now, he has changed his classes to Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Which means, we'll have a common day class on Wednesday, so also means, we get to see each other on 1 more week night and the weekends. =)

The Little Princess

I just got this few photos from Princess Clara's daddy....

Woah... She really has so much toys and clothes! Puts my wardrobe to shame...

And I swear, I NEVER had so much toys in my entire life!

Just 1 sentence. She has plenty of doting uncles, aunties buying her things... I happen to fall into that category as well. =P

At the insistence of me, I made the Daddy and Mommy chose the toy that they would like the princess to be playing. I admit. I'm not very good at buying kiddy's toys. How on earth do I know if she is old enough to play that though the ages is indicated there la. But every baby is different ma. Not a good gauge right?! Plus, how on earth would I know what Clara likes to play?! So heng ar. The parents agree to shop with me and all I need to do is just swipe the card. Thank God for that!

So the parents and I went to this toy store in Paragon, "ELC" or something and selected the bricks set. I would thought its every parents nightmare to have this kind of toys since the bricks go EVERYWHERE! But hey.. the parents like it. SO ok. I'm sure they know what the princess will like to. Not going to challenge their decision.

I then saw the price of it and was like.. har.. so cheap.. and I made them choose something in addition to that and they chose the 3 aeroplanes. Which really looks very cute in real life. Got magnet at the tip some more so all the planes can join up together too! =)A box of wooden brick and 3 aeroplanes. Darling, U want to be pilot? or Air Stewardess? Or Architect when you grow up? =)

I like these 2 photos... she's playing with a mini umbrella and so cute! She, I think, is looking and wondering when she can use this umbrella?

Fret not, I can use it indoors too! =D So cute lor, really hold over her head... as if it's raining indoors!

I really do miss her. She's so cute and playful now.

Was on msn with the daddy, the poor little princess is down with HFMD. =( Daddy said fever has subsided but can't eat well now. Will pray for her that she will recover from this episode soon. The poor little thing. =(
