I get to satisify my cravings.

Was craving for sandwich for a long time. And not just any old sandwich ok?! Must be one that's full of nutrients, goodness, taste, NO fat (or a little of it) and MUST be full of wholesome goodness with every single mouthful!

So where do you go when there is such craving?

Subway of course!!!

And my colleague, Irene and me really went to Subway for our lunch earlier today.

It was so wholesomely GOOD! I really love every bite of it. If given a choice, I think I can eat their sandwich for lunch every single day!! I love sandwiches!!!

And what I like most about Subway is that, they let you customise your sandwich the way you like it.

It starts with the kind of the main fillings that you wanna sink your teeth into. Then the bread and size that you like, topped with healthy, crunchy veggies, and the sauce that your tastes buds feel like having. Complete with a drink and either 2 cookies or a bag of crisps.

No more eating stale lettuce and sandwiches full of calories dripping mayo!

I LOVE Subway. I wish I can eat it more often. But the price of one such meal is not really affordable on a daily basis too. I shall eat it once in a blue moon then.

Made a trip to action city too but no stock of the plastic lid. Left my name and contact with them and hopefully they will remember to call me when the stock is here.

Since I had a PC expert with me, we went into Best Denki hoping to take a peep at the Lenovo T16. But, according to the expert, only authorised dealers are allowed to sell the Lenovo so, yups! Din manage to even get a glimse of ANY Lenovo's at all.

Anyway, time to go. Going to PIL's plc for dinner. Hopefully don't have to see OBIL.

On a Quest.

Since the confirmation, no, should say before the confirmation of my course in Uni SIM, hubby thought it will be a good idea for me to own a MP3 with voice recording function so that I can record parts of the lecture and also the MP3 will keep me entertained on the to and fro to Uni SIM. So sweet hor?

So, he’s been searching. Searching for such a gadget within budget. He recommended me the Creative Zen Neeon with a 6GB (4 colors available and I thought the “PINK” back plate looks pretty from the online store) memory which has a one touch voice recording + FM radio function which is at an affordable $150. I’m not a MP3 person, prefer the radio somehow... haha… I don’t really mind it but I do feel that the memory is abit low as compared to Apple iPod with an impressive 20GB memory leh. But then again, I think 6GB should be enough for me.

Today, being Saturday, after washing our clothes and then we hit the town. More specifically, we want to go to the Creative store @ Marina Square to take a look at the actual product. And, I was soooo disappointed when I saw the actual product, the “PINK” one does not look nice at all! Think I'll settle for either the black or the silver.

The Zen Neeon 2, Pink looks good though (as compared) but being practical, Neoon 2 has 2GB and it costs about $240 while the Neoon is 6GB at $150! I made up my mind, I’ll get the Neeon even though I prefer the Neoon 2, coz it’s not practical and logical to spend like $90 more for a lower memory but to look nice right?! See? I’m such a good wife to hubby, don’t want to waste his hard earned money unnecessary also.

BUT! Neeon is OUT OF stock lor. So, though we tried to get it, we din manage to get anything. =/ Another time then, hopefully the stock will come in then we can get that. Actually hor…. Hubby needs the recording thingy soon so he is soon bian get it for me lor.. haha… But nvm lar, at least he thought of me, that I will need it just that the gadget serves him first then serve me lor. Hahahaha…

I saw Sony shop and I went in to peep @ the T10. Wah!! I love it!! It’s so pinky and nice and sweet and dainty and takes such good, crisp, clear photos!! But, it’s also at an outrageous price of $599!!! I won’t pay for it. Too expensive just for looking pretty. Was also looking at labtops since I’m pretty sure that during my course next year, I will be needing it. Since we can’t find anything in Marina, we made our way to Funan IT mall to take a look at the labbys and also camera coz I remember that the shop John 3:16 is a popular and highly recommended place to get cameras.

The moment we stepped in, we realized that there was a HP fair. Looked around and not too bad, the price is not that damaging to my wallet purse. I’ve no idea to the specifications that the sales person was rattling off to my question. I just nod and smile and pretend to understand. Luckily hubby was with me, I think he make a better audience than me. He was able to catch the terms and specifications, the sales person also recommended Compact, Acer, HP some brand Lenova? So in the end, I think I will get a HP. But not sure which model yet, let me look and compare around some more ya? Will need to ask the experts on this soon before making my FINAL decision. And I shall get my sister to help me buy at student rate since it is cheaper.

So with a new labby, we must also have a PC desk/table lor. Off to V.hive we trooped. Did manage to find a few not too bad tables but still early to buy, hence, once again, we shall wait till we know exactly what and where we want to place the tables.

We also went into John 3:16 and really! The sales people there are ultra friendly. We went in and asked about THE T10 and they immediately say, that’s not a good camera, and he won’t recommend people to buy it.

I asked him for another recommendation, and immediately he says “Cannon” hmmm… But I’m already using a cannon, the powershot A80. Yups, it’s a super old model, it’s still working well I guess.

Just that I find it heavy and cumbersome to carry around. But my sis has given me her Sony Cybershot lor, so really no point in spending on another camera right?

Yet, on the other hand, the Ixus 6 is so nice also. Nice and slim and light but not in Pink lor.

And to be honest, I think it’s not expensive, we were quoted $460 for the 2 different models. Not too bad hor? So tempted to get it, but hubby stopped me. He says should not buy things rashly. Well, he has a point also.

Especially now, I got to spend like $2K on a labby and another couple of hundreds (estimated to be $300) on the table, it’s better to not buy the camera hor? But I really do like it leh!!

Mom is gng to China for a holiday and she wanna take the cybershot with her, think that’s why I’m so keen to get another camera of course plus the heaviness and cumbersome-ness of the A80, really keen to change camera.

*sigh* money money…
Aiyah, to take our minds off the money that’s gng to flow out soon, we decided to just chill out with some coffee. Went to TCC and sat there just sipping coffee and doing nothing. Was thinking that we can organize a gathering in TCC the next time as it’s in town, so more centralize for all the people but the drawback is that the TCC closes at 10pm, even on a Saturday night. So the timing is out, but there isn’t much crowd and to be honest, also getting abit sick of Dome all the time lor. Should have somewhere new once a while. =)

On a different note, I think the mornings of yoga is doing me and hubby good. (or is it the coffee?? Hmmm…) Even though we woke up at 6am this morning for yoga in Macritiche with Carol, till now, we are still quite wide awake, but must admit that we took a short nap this afternoon. I realized that the yoga is making me feel fresher throughout the day and hor, I realized now I can’t seem to stomach as much food as before.

We had a sinful dinner at Carl’s Junior, though we polished off all the food (we shared the Famous Star combo and an additional mushroom burger, which tasted like the mushroom swiss from BK), we are both so full that we felt like bursting. But it was a good dinner. We both enjoy it even though it probably wasted all our yoga efforts for the last few days, maybe even weeks!

If it was a few months ago, probably at the time or when we were at TCC, we would have ordered some additional snacks or so. I was tempted to but we din leh. Still felt that our food was being digested and at such a late hour, really not advisable to eat too much.

Since we were just sitting there and not doing much, we just got hold of some of the magazines and started flipping through when the table top poster caught my eye.
Check this out….

And would you want a cuppa of their Halloween Special?!
Bloodied fangs and slimy worms,
blended in an unfortunate mix.
Taste horror in every sip...
but beware of who knocks
on your door this Halloween!”

Yucks!!!

Do you wanna put something that looks so horrible into your mouth?! Eeeks!!

But I think this "Halloween" thingy is catching up in SG. Pass by some restaurants in Marina Sqand they also have the "Halloween" menu.. Think is the same kind of food, they probably just disguise it into some skull shape or something ba.

Think the yoga is really helping. I just read the article in TCC saying that the person after doing yoga began to “listen” to his body and somehow he turned away from those sinful food. (This will be good for me, I LOVE sinful food!) I’m not at the stage where I will turn away from sinful food yet, but I think I will reach there someday lor. Hopefully, it will be soon. Hahaha..

Ok lar, better hit the bed, still have to wake up for yoga and morning mass later. But before that, I wish for a HP labby, a PC table, the Cannon Ixus. If I wished hard enough, maybe I can get it when I wake up?

Hahahaha…

Such an Idiotic move lor!!

Let me ask you, dear readers of mine. (Doesn’t matter if there’s only a pathetic few readers that I can finish counting with just 1 hand. I just want some feedback.)

If you just came back to SG after a short holiday and in urgent need to check your email. What will you do? Where will you go?

Or put it this way, if there is such urgency for you to check your mail, would you then ask your sibling to return the car 3 hours later? And then go to the sibling’s house to check emails? Especially when the sibling does not subscribe to internet connection and is tapping on others? When the mentioned said person has a good broadband connection at home waiting for him to use? And also go for dinner some more after getting the car, take an hour long rest at the sibling’s place watching TV?

I think for most people who really has such urgency to check mails/stocks etc will go home or at least to an internet café to do whatever is necessary right?

Well, “CONGRATULATE” me people, I happen to have an OBIL who happens to do just that! Went on a cruise with his GF and reached SG maybe around 2pm. Hubby wanted to return the car to him but he very gallantly let hubby take the car till he is off from work so that hubby does not have to take public transport home. Then, OBIL and his GF wanted to come to our house – to just visit and take a seat and TO CHECK EMAIL!

Damn it!!!

We DON’T have internet connection and we ARE tapping others! Since day 1, he is already aware, so why come?!! And this is not the first time that he wants to come “To check email” lor. I simply don’t understand it, he HAS connection at home, he has the car, he has almost everything that he wants and need. SO WHY DOES HE KEEP LOOKING FOR REASONS/EXCUSES TO COME TO OUR HOUSE?!?!?

Hubby insists that I am just against him, prejudiced against him. Maybe I am. But I don’t think I am. I simply don’t understand why he is doing all these unnecessary things and saying unnecessary things.

I wished hubby had turned him down. Not that OBIL and family cannot even come to our house. But I don’t want to give him the impression that our house is open to his coming and going. By letting him come so easily, it’s like we are very chin chai and ‘welcome him and GF’ to come anytime. I know, they are family and that I should not be so particular when he come or go but I SIMPLY just don’t want to open our house as and when he asked. We will choose WHEN to open our house for visits! Damn it!!!

I admit my opinion of him change ever since I know he broke up with YL and got to know of this current GF. Of course, I know that when it comes to matters of the heart, there is nothing for sure and that even though a couple may have been dating for a long time, there is no guarantee that they will get married. This, I understand and also respect. But what I simply loath about OBIL was the way he treated her! He made her attend our wedding even though they have broken up. Argg!!! This, I will never forget! If not for his actions and words, I would still have some respect for him as an OBIL and also will not be so weary of a tiny action nor a single word that comes from him.
I have not forgotten his words to PIL that we never invite them to our place. So is this the reason that he keeps coming? What about his prior insistence that he rent a room from us in our current empty house?

I have no wish to share my nest with anyone for the time being, much less him! To be honest, I have NO WISH to share our nest with any of the 2 BILs!!!

See lar, I wanted to blog about my interview with the Uni SIM HOD but this OBIL of mine made me so mad that it completely slipped my mind!

Argg!!!!

To cut the whole story short, my interview was at 10.05am at the Admin Office in Uni SIM. Well, the appointment letter did not specify which block, hence I went to the same place that I went when I submitted my application. But it turned out to be the wrong place. Asked around and it finally lead me to Blk 82, which is like further down the road. And gosh, the admin office is so run down!!! *Bleh*

Filled in a survey and so embarrassed when I realized I cannot spell the word “recognize” or more like “recognition” too used to having spell check and also auto correct, even when I pick up a pen, I realized I cannot spell lots of the words anymore. *sigh*

Anyway, the interviewer is the same guy who spoke during the Open House a few weeks ago. I already had a feeling that it’s gonna be him anyway.

He merely asked me 2 main questions. First, why did I choose Uni SIM? Second, why did I choose BSc in Business with Communications. I think I must have done ok. He was not impressed with my answer coz I picked ‘distance’ as the main reason for answering both of his questions. But however, I think today’s interview is merely a formality that the part time students (like me) have to go through. Coz, immediately after answering the questions, the interviewer passed me the acceptance letter. -_-“ and his words “I believe I have something for you, it’s the acceptance letter, all the instructions are inside”

Heh!! So much for “interview being part of the selection process”. I believe, most of the interviewees are already selected candidates! We are told to go down so that the HOD can warn us of the time commitment and stress level that we are to expect and also to hand us the letter.

I think it’s part of the “cut costs, cut waste” project that SIM is adopting from some staff SSS (staff suggestion scheme!). Chey!! Scared me leh. And I was kind worried about this interview since yesterday.

*CHEY*

Thursday, October 26

It's time already?!

This morning, I got a scare from my less-than-a-year-old-handphone.

The motorola V3i decided to play a prank on me and I got this...

"Invalid Battery"!?

Huh?!

What on earth?! "invalid battery" indeed! Immediately I tried to switch off and then on, and no luck, the error message is still displayed.

Hubby was offering suggestions/solutions as to if I had fully charged my battery and if it's loose etc etc. Erm... How on earth would I know if the battery is loose right? Charged? Of course not, there's 2 bars left.

What to do but to take out the back casing (which is a darn hard thing to do, you'll get what I mean if u own a V3), take out battery and hopefully it will resolve itself. Hubby was offering suggestions/solutions as to if I had fully charged my battery and if it's loose etc etc.

Anyway, the V3i worked fine after me removing it's back cover, took out battery, shook it abit, blow it abit and then it's fine from morning till now la.

And, the battery went dead on me, so yes, I've just recharged it, using the USB cable.

And! On a completely separate note, I've just got to meet this guy student of ours, who is from the Chem and Life Science school. Actually got to know him yesterday. What's so special about him that I wanna dedicate at least half of my entry on him right?

Well, he's not really that good looking, but he has the kind of build that I simply can't take my eyes off him. He speaks like an ABC (but he's a Malaysian ok, I'm impressed!) I thought he came from some atas boys' sec sch locally from his speech, but goodness, he speaks such fluent and good english for a Malaysian, I'm bowed over!

And he is soooo gentlemanly! Ok, fine! My guy students will open doors for me, wait for me to pass thru etc, but this guy, he's different, he does it with a sort of 'air' about him that makes him very different from the rest of the other students even when they are doing the same thing. The rest look like a bunch of kids being polite, while the same action coming from him makes him excludes an air of perfect gentleman, THE suave gentleman.

He's also a jovial guy, and boy does he have a gift of the gap! Simple sms can make me actually smile to myself and think of him more. The best part was that I commented that he actually master the art of "Killer Looks" (I was surprised that he acutally gave this look to the visiting students, my other student leaders just look on helplessly on most occassions) and thus was joking with him that he has mastered it quite well and then just went on saying that when these visiting students irriated me too much, I give them the same look. And he went, "can't imagine you doing that, you'll look too nice and good..." Wah! Melts my heart leh! I forwarded the sms to hubby and hubby replied me with, 'Hahaha they have not kena yet only ah. I dun think they will say that if they kena lor.' -_-" FYI, darling, it's HIM only, not they! hump!

So see?! Gift of the Gap right?! And while waiting for the students, I handed him 2 paperbagfuls of files to carry and then it started to pour this afternoon, I pulled him to stand right in front of me and some others to block the rain (coz he's so tall!) saying, big size ppl can help to block rain and he stood there for the whole time till we walked away! woah.. Then after distributing the files, there were some left overs and I was holding on to it and he immediately offered help to carry it. woah woah... really very impressed with his EQ. Of course, there are also students of mine who does the same, but the way they do it compared to him is very different.

My students joked and sms me sometimes, but yet the same action seems so different. Never has a student manage to make me wish that I was years younger and send some tiny butterflies fluttering in my stomach leh. haha

Got the 'crush' feeling come back leh.. how?! hahaha.. I feel like a teenager now. haha..
But don't worry ok, darling, I adult now, not a teen, so won't 'crush' so easily anymore.

Wednesday, October 25

First day of work

After the rather long break, it's back to the office today.

The first thing that greeted me was the visit by a Sec school early in the morning at 9am and then followed by some chaos of some student leaders missing and don't know what's happening. Followed by the venue that I booked is being taken over by some other people which lead us to hunt for another venue last minute and Thank God, there WAS a venue that was available for 1 hour just that morning. *Phew*

Finally after a grueling 2 hours, the kiddies left and finally I can rest and relax and prepare for the next visit which is tomorrow afternoon, right smack during LUNCHTIME! argg!!

But, all is not lost, I have a standing lunch date with Emma and Uncle Jeffrey! They are both on super long leave leh! From Monday till today, only work 1 day this week for Emma and Uncle Jeff doesn't even need to head for office till next week! wah!! Anyway, we went for a good lunch at Botak Jones. It's my first time there. And hor, I am ashamed to say that I never knew of their existance till I saw them on TV and the best part is, their AMK store is like 2 blocks away from where my PIL's are staying.. *sheesh*

I had their Botak cheese burger! woah... comparable to those served at hard rock leh. Nice. But I feel tat the beef patty is a tad too drying and the portion is huge. I cannot finishe my burger, fries and also salad. The cajun chicken looks and tasted yummy too, Emma gave me some to try.

I like the food, will go back again one day. The prices are very reasonable, 3 of us with a cheese sandwich, cajun chicken and Botak cheese burger only did a $18.50 damage to the wallets. Very affordable isn't it?! And it was such a filling meal!

After such a good lunch, I din even have to eat anything for the entire day before I head for kickboz. Totally forgot that it's the last week of the month and there's the reknown "15 rounds' to be done, which if I remember, I will try to siam. But then again, even if I do remember, after that heavy cheesy beef burger, I think I will still go la.

The workout was quite the same, just that we were not given rest time, we continued throughout the whole 1.5 hours. Of course, we can rest and we do at our own pace so not so bad lar. I was not as tired out as I sometimes will be after '15 rounds' cld be coz I was also feeling pretty tired, coz it's that time of the month, so din exert too much strength.

Really wanted to have a healthy after workout snack and I've already decided that I will just be eating fruits for dinner. But *sigh* blame it on tempatations and me, myself. I saw some cookies that our neighbour gave us, think they are muslim indians, so they baked cookies and things, gave us a box, and also MIL bought us 2 pao, so shared that with hubby. They had the car these few days and they went on a SG cruise coz OBIL is outta of town together with hubby coz he went back for dinner while I go kick box. I heard hubby said they went to see the Deepavali and Hari Raya Lights. And on the way, passed by some famous pao shop and MIL bought us 1 each.

Then, there goes my healthy meal after work out lor.. *sigh*

Well, time to go to lala land. Still need to wake up early tomorrow to do my yoga before gng to work. Nighty nite!

something to look forward to... or not?

Yay!!!

The week long engineering week is finally over! Today is the last day! Hooray!!! Would have opened a bottle of red to celebrate if not for my darn croaky voice now.

Then, the long weekend has just began for me too! Taking Monday off in lieu of Saturday Public Holiday. So I'll have 4 days of not being in the office! Yay!!!

And we have such a healthy and fun day lined up just for tomorrow. Early yoga in the greens of the Macritiche with Towkay, his wifey, Carol and of course hubby and me! Follow by a heart healthy breakfast made by Alex.. I think it should tastes great!

And we are meeting up with a few of the SW gang for dinner at Dome tomorrow evening too. This will definately be a fun and laughter filled nite!

I'm looking forward to tomorrow and the next few days where we don't have to work at all!

The only thing I'm not so looking forward is that *sigh* I have to go to SIM for the entry interview for the course I'm applying for on Friday morning.

I think best I don't go and think first. If not, cannot enjoy my long leave, sorry! Not leave, long break!

Yay!

It's the long weekend approaching. I can already smell it from where I am. My weekend officially starts the moment I finished typing this.

Best of all, the Engineering Week is already over, the Discovery Week is soon to be over and only left with 2 mre visits for next week and then can almost close shop till the mad house preparation starts.

Chio!

In the last few months, there are lots of my colleagues giving birth, I cannot even remember how many baby showers I have contriubuted to!

The thing is, or rather the practise is the colleagues will receive the BB shower and then wait till their BB is a full month before giving us a cake voucher (usually from Begawan Solo) So by the time, I get the voucher, most of the time I would have already forgotton about it lor..

And it is the same for my latest colleague who gave birth late last month.

I got the voucher thru the internal mail system today and I know it is begawan solo judging form the envelope. But what surprised me was this!

TA DA!!!Darn cute hor the BB? This is really the 1st voucher I've received that I know the parents spend time and effort into this simple "thank you" voucher! So cute and so loveable! I think I will treasure this little picture for a long long time.

Where shall I display this picture?? At home or in office??! How???!

And yesterday's, we got an email asking for support to buy don't-know-what thing for charity at $2 la. To me is, sure is 1 of those useless thing and for $2, ok lar, go ahead and buy it, then the office ppl will stop hounding me, "Why no support?" etc. Our names are recorded weather we buy or din buy you see, so I thought might as well maintain my name in the "good book" go ahead and buy.

I seriously have no idea what my $2 will get me. But I paid up, nevertheless with the thought that, whatever useless thing it is, at least it's only $2 lorr... don't be such a miser and keep harping on it.

Well! Guess what? This $2 din get me something useless leh. It got me something that I AM keeping a lookout for, but for it's uses and the kinda price that these "kill people, set fire" (杀人放火)shops are selling, I won't pay for it lor. Ok la, maybe it's I miser after all la.

So what is this useful $2 charity thing I got?

This!
Chey! You may say. But I was in need of one ma. Since I need one then it's useful to me already lor.

That black piece of thing Hp cleaner at the corner came with my HP when I got it, but the string broke and I cannot attached it to my HP. So being a V3i, my hp has lots of fingerprints, greese, dirt, oil and goodness-know-what most of the time ever since the string broke hence began my search for a new piece.

Like I say, either I hiam or I miser lor, I refused to pay the price the shops are selling, so I loon till today till I got this new piece thru charity.

Oh.. I'm a Happy Person now.

I realised, must be happy and thankful for small things lar. I could have spend $7 on a useless piece of thing like this and yet I only spent $2! Somemore! Can do charity!

Good!!

Happy and GENEROUS person is my nature leh!

Tuesday, October 17

Blah!

The year is coming to an end and with it's ending, it brings about lots of work!

There must be something about the year end that I'm so busy. I'm so busy with the soon-to-be-starting Engineering Week activities. The grand opening is today in SP in the morning and tomorrow is the full blast of the activities.

I've been running around the whole day in my heels, yes, I could have worn flats but I went to the darn opening ceremony, my principal was there, the deputy principals where there and ALL my immediate directors were there too. Cannot be wearing ugly flats right?! So, was in heels and walked round campus a few times today.

Tomorrow is the darn start of the programmes and I have a grand total of 285 students just in the morning. *sigh*

And for the next 3 days, there are morning and afternoon programmes not to mention that I have 2 more visits next week, which reminds me to hunt for the staff to chase for student leaders to lead the visit. Then another week long of Discovery programmes.

And the most most dampening news for today must be this, duty list for OH07 is out. And we are doing the same thing again!!! Hump!!

Tours AND Student Guides!

Why can't we have a job rotation and change this to someone else? This is really really tough to handle!!

So, what's so happy about year end, tell me?

Also, not to forget those blessed haze from Indonesia just makes life sooooo much even better now lor!

ARGGGggggg

Friday, October 13

New name.

I mentioned I was in a skit a few days ago? And I was supposed to wear a crown and a sash right? Well, my role there was this person called "Miss ISO".

Well, it's either I can act too well or people find my name difficult to pronouce and remember. Overnight, I have lost my name. I was trying to call a staff yesterday to clarify some matter and what did I get?

me: Hello XXX, I'm Sharon. Sharon from engg.
XXX: huh? Sharon? Sharon who?
me: erm... Sharon from Level 5?
XXX: Oh! ISO!!!

>.<"

Gosh!!! This staff worked with me before! We meet each other pretty often as we are both at Level 5! We chatted before too you know!!! And he...

Argg!!!

I'm not so sure if I should be feeling happy or sad about my new found name at the moment. Give me a few more days to see if I will get used to people, staff, colleagues calling me by ISO, ya?!

Well, on the brighter side of things, Ah Teck gave me a huge packet of Green Tea.

It's not that kind that is pre packed. It's loose tea leaves. That you can add more or lesser according to your tastes buds.

I haven't tried it yet, but he said it is of a superior quality.

And he gave it to me coz
1) I drink green tea
2) He claims he has too much tea at home

So since he give me, I take and shall not ask too many questions about it anymore.

tata... time to go home.

Hopefully, people will stop calling me ISO next week!!

Tuesday, October 10

Idol of the year!

Congratulate me, people!

I'm in the running for IDOL of the year leh, together with 5 others la. Been busy practising for a skit (performance is tomorrow afternoon) for the last few days and this will determine who will win lor.

I have a sash that says "Miss ***" and wears a crown. My other competitors, well, no fight la, definately, I'll be the winner! hahaha.. But the lousy script hor says 'We are ALL winners!' *Darn* How can all win at the same time?! Then how do I get to be the IDOL of the year, IDOL of my company??!!

Anyway, my number is "1". SO VOTE FOR ME lar!!

Will try to post a picture of gorgeous looking me wearing the DIY (I made it with hubby last night in 30mins time ok!!) sash and the oh-so-ugly-looking-crown! Hm... on hindsight, better not post the pic.

Cannot ruin my 美美形相!

Belated Mid-Autumn

Did not have a chance to celebrate Mid-Autumn on the actual day yesterday. Well, we kind of did, just without seeing much of the moon kinda celebration.

But today is different! We or rather myself, Godma and Bro all made plans to celebrate Mid-Autumn together @ our friendly, pretty neighbourhood park which is just stone's throw from our home, it's more like a gathering rather than celebration. Lots of food, lots of laughter, chit chat, fun and yes, LOTS and LOTS of haze!!! Coz Godma had to go for sunset mass, Bro's family and us went down to the park at about 6pm. Need to choop a good seat, we thought but when we went down, we are one of those few few people who are in the park. I think they are all scared of the haze. And I think they are right to be scared of it lor. Just look at it!!! My goodness.

We can hardly look clearly across the buildings for the haze. And the sky... looks like a dirty sheet of paper.

Really wondering what those Indonesians are doing to the earth and seriously, can't their government do something? It's affecting us every single year!

Opps.. think I digress too much. It's on Mid-Autumn that I was talking. Anyway, Bro and us split up to buy food. We had hokkein noodles, fried carrot cakes, sam lou hor fun, fried rice, sushi, watermelon, polemelo, chinese tea and of course Mooncakes from Tung Lok.

We had so much fun just stitting there, talking, eating and laughing, it's good to know each other and have fun like this. Come to think of it, think this is already the 3rd year running that we celebrating together.

The children ran wild at the park, they had so much fun eating, candles, sparkles, lanterns and playing at the playground while the lazy bums like us, sat there as though rooted to the stone seats.

It was a good nite only marred by the darn haze! And we were the earliest there and latest to go off from the park as well.

Busy also must enjoyz...

No matter how busy we are or rather I am, still must take some time to enjoy myself with family and friends.

So after working my ass off for the whole day, what did we do? Went for a birthday dinner with family in law to celebrate FIL's birthday. Also so concidiental lor, go for a dinner on Mid-Autumn festival. Also good lar, tonite go already then tomorrow, we are free to celebrate with Godma and Brother.

Food was good at the restaurant, not sure of the name of the restaurant, but it's near the YCK swimming pool. MIL used to work there so she has some sort of preferred treatment lor. *hiak*hiak*

Dinner was quite ok, pretty quiet, nothing much to be said since I din want to offend anyone. Just kept quiet and ate my food. After dinner, that's where the partying starts lor. haha I really din want to take OBIL's car.. but FIL insisted, cannot reject him too much, so no choice took a lift from him to J8. OBIL was rushing to go out lor.. but still he drove us to J8, for that I got to thank him la.

Meeting the wise one and her hb at Bishan but we did not state the time, and it was so concidiental that we really bump into each other at the level 2 atrium. Nothing to buy, so sian then we went into Shibuya and happy already lor. Each of us got something! =)
Next stop? Food, of course! And to our soon-to-be-favourite cafe of the SW gang, Oilo Dome we come! Ordered a snack and drinks and we yakked the night away.

Din reach home till after 1am.. faint!! Lucky, we stay near enough to Oilo.. if not have to take cab home!

Oh! Did I say, it's FIL's, Emilyn's and Karen's Birthday today?!

Happy Hatch Day to you all!

sooooo sooooo sooo busy!

Wah!

From the moment I stepped into office on Tuesday till now, everyday is like a war zone! So many things to clear, to do and to follow up.

If I say, I'm tired, it's an understatement leh. My eyes are becoming watery (no, not coz of contact lens, I haven't been wearing them for the last 3 days! Today then I wore it in the whole of this week!) It's coz I've been staring sooo bloody hard and soo darn long at my computer screen!

Then all the clearing of backlog, before I even manage to clear like 10%, another 20% came in. How to finish like that?

*Sigh*

My eyes are watering, my fingers are numb (from the typing on keyboard), my arms are aching, my back is sore, my head feels heavy and my throat is dry. Not coz there is no drinking water but I exert my voice too much today.

Screaming at a bunch of kiddies, well not really kiddies, but secondary level kids, then also the rehearsal which the mike decided to like die out on me and my voice is not carried across.

I feel like lying here and not move anything anymore... Gosh.. Did I also mention there is a dinner with PIL tonite again? This time to celebrate his bday which is tomorrow?! Today is also mid autumn leh and instead of going out somewhere where hubby and me can look at moon + stars + to feed mosquitoes, I'm feeling tired and want to hide out or rather hide IN!!

How?!

Some time to spare...

Finally, have sometime to spare and here I am blogging away again.

These few days have been like a war zone here, everyday there's soooo many mails to clear, registrations, phone calls, updates and even rehearsals amongst other goodness knows what else. Also I was also busy trying to get the pictures uploaded into blogger but coz my pics are so darn huge, you guessed it lor, cannot upload. So was also busy trying ways and means to upload it and would you believe it? It took me like a week to get it done. But thank God for a very clever hubby, he taught me a simpler method.

*yeh*

Took some time off for myself and came up with this, a summary of the shopping that we had done in Phuket last week.
Considering that I am not called "shopping queen" for nothing, I'm quite amazed that we did not buy more than this! But then again, it could be coz my pockets are very empty during this time hence not much $ to spurge and to help boast Thailand's econmy at the moment.

We din even manage to fill up the empty canvas bag that I had stuff into our lagguage leh. That bag was just filled with snacks which are meant to be distributed to our family and also some last min things that we found from the hotel room and decided to just throw it in.

Nothing much else to update except that for the past 2 days in-a-row, I'm working till like 7pm?! Gosh!! I thought only during mad house I have to work such hours, I din expect NOW to start this kinda timing. =S

super duper busy!

Wah lau! Look at the time, I am still slogging away in office! And this is the first day back at work after my holiday lor!!

Buay tahan.

No time to write more. Another time. *sigh*

Monday, October 2

Holiday is over, back to work soon.

It’s time to work my ass off now that we are back from Phuket. And I am NOT joking by ‘work my ass’ off.

Just this week, there will be a visit on Friday. I still have to train the student leaders, well not really train just need to brief them on what they need to do for the visit, where to go, how to go, what to say and what not to say too. Then there are rehearsals on an almost daily basis for like half a day?! (not sure if it’s gonna be morning or afternoon yet, no email access for the moment.) Gosh!! That IS gonna take up sooooo much of my precious time! Think I won’t be able to knock off on time punctually for the next few days already till the blessed Excel Day is over on the 11 Oct.

Going holiday is great fun, but to come back and clear the backlog and to catch up with the existing work then it’s really really no fun.

Plus, there’s soooo much washing to do after we come back…. Our clothes that we wore there and also the bed sheets and sofa covers need to be cleaned too… So the weekend and even today was taken up with lots of washing… just the 2 of us go on a holiday, we had to load the machine 3 times! First time was just our clothing. Second was the fitted sheet and then the sofa covers. Third time was the rest of the bed things... Gosh…And coz we don’t have enough bamboo poles, we had no choice but to wash it like on 3 separate days also…Saturday, Sunday and ALSO today. (Which thank God, I am on leave, so I can still do it, if not, how to do it?!)

Hubby went back to work today already. But I guess, I’m not willing to go back and face the war zone as yet hence put off putting going back to work. I know cannot hide forever but I guess since I need to face it sooner or later, I might as well face it later lor. Haha!!

Well, today is gonna be a relaxing day for me I hope… finished the washing already, needs some clearing to be done for the table then I think I can really have the full day off and just laze. I think I am becoming a more and more homely person leh... haha.. I rather spend the time lazing at home than go anywhere or do anything.. Or maybe… I am just being plain lazy?

Well, I did think of doing something, like baking some cookies for hubby, I know he likes the peanut cookies but I don’t have the ingredients at home. Need to go and buy.. then also I lost that recipe. Now also no internet access so cannot go online and search.. so aiyah… forget it lar.. Also, the chocolate cake is still in the fridge too heaty if I make cookies… The cookies shall wait then.

Maybe if later my mood is good, I shall go n get that little blue chair fm the shops for hubby as a surprise since I threw his away… see how later.

And while I am still lazing at home. I have already cooked rice for my lunch today. Easy as ABC, coz just cooked rice and then add in the Japanese dishes for the taste and that’s a meal. Fast, cheap and rather healthy lor. Haha..

Holidaying in Phuket. =)

It’s been a nice and relaxing holiday in Phuket. The coup is like non-existent there. Holiday makers(mostly Ang Mo’s, very few Asians, even if there are, mostly are Japanese and Koreans, kinda feel we are the few Singaporeans) are roaming the streets. Locals are peddling their wares on the beaches, streets… everywhere to be exact. Don’t feel the existence of the coup at all.

It’s such a peaceful and enjoyable few days! (Minus the early hours, the packing, unpacking and also cleaning!)

To summaries our days there, we left for the Airport from Singapore bright and early at 5.40am on Wednesday (27 Sep), which is also our first day in Phuket. Then we went on a than-half-day-tour in Phuket Town, went to our hotel to check in and we went to the FantaSea in the evening.

Thursday (28 Sep), second day.
We had a full body massage and foot massage in the afternoon. Spent our day swimming in the pool, roaming the streets.

Friday (29 Sep), third day.
Went to Phuket Town, this time to the shopping centre. =) Went to the beach to catch some waves in the sea. This is the first time, we went into the waters in our days here! Nightfall, pack our bags and get ready to go home the next day leh. =(

Saturday (30 Sep), fourth day.
Home Sweet Home! Another bright and early day to catch the 8am flight home. Transfers came to pick us at 6am from the hotel lobby. By the time, we reach home, it was already noon. Then it’s an endless unpacking, cleaning and clearing.

We were dead beat after all these things and took a nap. By the time, we both woke up, it was already 7.30pm. Too late and too tiring for us to head to CTK for the grains.

Went for a late dinner and again, we headed back home to rest and to recover from the housework and to settle back down to SG life.. haha..

It's been a great holiday. Really feel refreshed and relax. Think, I want to go back again. haha

Going international!

I like it very much when my colleagues go overseas and come back! =) Coz it usually means some kind of freebies and snacks and don't know what else for moi.

This time, it is my dear office mate, Ah Teck who has gone out of SG and he back with a pack of snacks for me. It's just a pack of snacks lor, you may say, need to get so excited ar? But the thing is, it's the gesture that I appreciate lor, he don't have to get it for me leh.

Somemore, I asked him to help me get 2 tins of tea leaves and some skin cream that I think is good. So all in, he also lugged somethings back for me mar. Ask him to buy things already pai sey already he still got something else additional leh. So nice of him.

All in, I asked him to help me buy 2 tins of tea leaves, some cream and all these already costs $65 SGD. The tea leaves better be good ok!? Expensive leh! You know from where? CHINA lor. $65 SGD for 2 tins of tea leaves and 6 packs of cream better be good man... And I got a pack of walnuts. Oh yes, speaking of this, he let me choose first. The first thing that I came in this morning, he let me pick which want I want leh. Then he distributed the rest to the others.

So, being his office mate does have it's merits after all. =)

Hee... The walnuts are nice lor. I ate some already... I love snacks so it suits me. Will be bringing the rest home so can share with hubby later.

Oh yes!!

We are leaving for Phuket for 4D3N tml, so there won't be any updates. And you know what is the best best best part besides leaving SG to go on holiday tml? It is being able to leave office early too!!

haha... so happy...

Coz. I'm making a trip to Uni SIM to hand in my documents. Directors and PCEO has approved and since I have no time to go down before the closing date, I'm going later lor..

YahoO!! On company's time and on official biz and can go early. Better go and finished up the rest of my work before anything else then..

All righty, till we come back from Phuket.

Ciao~

To make up for it.

It's a known fact that I've been doing alot of self indulging these days..especially when it comes to food. hmm.. not "these days" but more like over the weekend.

So to make up for those amount of food that I've been staffing myself full to the brim with, I decided to go light today with just a sandwich and a very healthy fruit juice!

After all, too much and good food will make me sick too, so better eat bread and just juice. =)

I ate the cookies that we baked yesterday for breakfast but I guess it's not very filling lor, by 1130 hrs, my stomach went growling. But I was sooo busy with work and also maybe msn, I put of having lunch till like 2pm ok! haha

So being so late, most of the sandwich was outa stock, got an egg mayo sandwich with guava juice.

So much for healthy food lor.. Look at the amout of MAYO in it!!

*sigh*

So difficult to eat healthy leh. Only good thing is, tonite will be dinner at my PIL's place. I feel MIL's cooking is a tad too oily and bland when it comes to her soup.. But at least, it IS a home cooked meal lor.
