Last Saturday when Hubby and me were on our way to Clara's First Month Celebration at her parent's nest, we met this little boy in the lift.
He was staring at us in the lift and then I just waved and teased him while I was hiding behind my big ass shades. (Remember me in my big ass shades?)
Then suddenly he blurted out "Oh Ba Ka..."
The parents burst into laughter. Hubby and I were stunned. We totally had no idea what it meant. Then the little boy pointed to me again and said "oh ba ka~~..."
We were still clueless.
It was till much later that say night while we were watching the Taiwan show, Guess, Guess, Guess then it suddenly it hit me!
"Orh Bak Ka!"
Blue Black!!!
The little boy must have meant that I look like I was blue and black in my eyes!

Life's a bore
Sorry for the lack of updates...I really haven't feel up for updating since the most interesting thing that ever happened is the so damn hot weather that fluctuates between raining in the mornings and then turn to scorching hot in the afternoon. Or the simple thing of what to eat / buy for lunch and dinner.
Yups. I've fallen into THAT routine. Yeah. So no updates. I've no idea what to write at all. A jam of some kind most likely.
I'm in the midst of being SUPER STUCK at my damn TMA (once again!) feeling damn pissed off already. What stupid piece of TMA it is anyway!
Not to mention, first lessons for this semester starts tomorrow, twice a week, for 6 weeks. Which falls RIGHT smack into my 2nd wedding anniversary next Monday.
Yups.
PERFECT!
No presents, no celebrations, no relaxation, no romance BUT a 3 hour lesson on some Law thingy!
hai...

Dedicated to food...
Started off with innocent looking Claypot Hor Fun which is sold at the coffeeshop oppoiste TMC.
Which hubby, myself, Vic, his wifey, Ah Toh and Cin went for dinner after going to see the little princess Clara and Mommy Wise.I really like the amount of vege that's in this claypot. Lots of greens, mushrooms and also baby corn. After eating most of the vege and meat, I can't finish the hor fun at all and I think I left almost half a pot lying there in the end.
Then this is "san lau hor fun" which is all white. Served with fish slices and beansprouts. I've never been a fan of beansprouts, but after tasting this version of hor fun, I like sprouts now!
This is available at the coffeeshop at AMK Block 151 or somthing like that. Besides this hor fun, they served rather good fish soup. THICK pieces of fish meat in milky soup, which is sooo filling and healthy and especially good for cold rainy days! I also love their "xia jiang zi", prawn paste chicken. Crispy and fragant. Ate once and been craving for it ever since!
Then, there is the Mutabak that is available at one of the coffeeshops near our nest.Their prata to their brani to mutabak... wah... sedap lor!!! Obviously, 1 is too much for each of us, so we shared.
I guess the uncle is quite sweet la, he cut the pieces real small for me lei! Other times when it's hubby who buys, it's usually in 9 or max 12 pieces. But look at my mutabak. It's at least 20 small pieces by the looks of it!
EVERY last crumb is gone and we also finished their curry. The skin is thin and crispy, while inside is fluffy and flavourful. Definitely, one of my favourite stall when I go there for my meals. Just that not very healthy to be eating this all the time, so I try to limit myself to once a fortnight or so.
Though hubby seems to prefer their brani with mutton. Acutally, I like it also. But to have it for dinner, too heavy. Especially, after eating, we'll go home to bathe and then just nua in front of the TV or our respective PC....
That bit of my stomach is almost screaming "muder" already!
Better go easy on all these food.
And a few weeks back, hubby and I had dinner at Hub, foodcourt and I had this Grilled Sotong with some green rice.
Tastes pretty good. Except that I was wearing white, and I was sooo afraid that I'll flick some of the sauce on my new F21 white top!I guess, by now, half the Singaporeans have already eaten the new Cheesy Pizza from Pizza Hut. The one that you actually pick one small piece of crust, pull and watch the cheese stretch and stretch and still stretches and then dip into the melted cheese thingy?
But hubby and I being very sua ku, we really have not tried it before. So one fine Saturday (which I cannot remember which fine Saturday now), we decided to try it. Reason being, the stall I wanted to try is jammed pack full and Pizza Hut had a new outlet in J8, which was almost empty. =/ So we had this...
Rosemary Chicken Cheesy Pizza with the melted cheese, ready for our choosing, pulling and dipping.Which by the way, the cheese REALLY stretches...
and stretch and stretch! Finally hubby used a fork to break the stands and I could then do the dipping part. Before popping it into my mouth.
It was HOT!!! =/ Burned my tongue and it was good! We had a 4 piece hot & spicy drumlets (a must have if I go Pizza Hut) soup, drinks and this small pizza. But between the 2 of us, we cannot finished, we had to tapow the remainder of 2.5 pieces (.5 coz the crust had all been choosen, dipped and popped. Left only the chicken and things on a thin slice of bread) home. Which is just as well coz I wrapped it up in foil and had it toasted for 10 mins or so for our breakfast before heading to CTK for our Sunday Mass.
On Monday, Ah Teck (my office roomie) delievered my orders of mooncakes...
and it took up more than 50% of my table! and costs me a total of $150!!
Total of 7 boxes, 2 for my PIL (1 traditional with yolk and 1 mixed seeds), 2 for my own parents (1 yam with yolk and 1 mini yam) and another 2 for myself (1 yam with yolk and 1 durian). The last box was Irene's. Which by now, I only have 1 box left at home.. Coz hubby and me have been feasting on it.... =(So, don't you agree that I've really been eating wayyyyyy too much?! =(
And!!!
I'm dying to go and try out this new eating place which just opened in J8 too!The Wan Chai tea house!
It's very very packed! I lost my patience and courage when I saw the throng of people waiting and milling outside the eatery. =(

new image?
I just had my long messy grass, that I call "hair" brutally chopped off last night after work. This time, it is still rather similar except that the front is really, really short now. Meron (my hair stylist) kind of like split the fringe into the inner and outer layer, and the inner layer was only a miserable 1cm sticking out from my forehead when I stole a peak last night. (Not easy to look when someone cutting your fringe and the stray short ends flying all over, mostly directly into your eyes lor.) And I must admit, I got quite worried when I saw it.
But HEH!!! When the whole thing is done... woo hoo... I like. Short, sassy, punky look! Refreshing change to my look. I like. Sis's hair also quite nice. If only my hair is not as curly, then I can cut the same style. But anway, Meron is good, she cut something to suit me and my hair texture. I like!
Then this morning, as I was walking towards a Secondary School in my shades and I was wearing a black racer with brown pants with my jacket thrown over my bag... Going for a talk that they invited us to be present, so cannot wear too casual and bare lor.
A guy driving past me in his car stopped and horned me! I thought he needed some directions or something so I approached him lor. Then he started to introduce himself to me! I was surprised beyond words! Before he could finished, I just told him, "sorry not interested."
If you are that guy who goes by the name of "John" sorry la, not I want to be so abrupt. But I was too surprised! And also, on thinking back, I should have told you, "I'm married" rather than what I replied you la. But at that moment, all that I could think off was not interested la.
Having said all these, it still feels shiok to know that besides hubby, there are some other men(man) who still feel and think that I'm attractive enough! Shiok!
Anyway, that's the end to my little encounter that I had with this Mr John of I don't know where la.
I know women tend to feel very good when a man (relatives, husband or otherwise) pays her a compliment and yesterday I had another one! SOOO happy! Can se that I'm relieving the moment? Play-acting out in my office. (When no one was around la, of course!)
And I recalled I was in the in-house printers yesterday, asking them to do something for me. A colleague was there before me already and when I can reach an agreement with the printers, I told them I need to talk to my mgr before I can commit. The colleague wiped out his phone and dialed my mgr's number and then I managed to say what I need to say and my mgr ended the conversation with "How come you using Colleague's XXX handphone?" I just replied, I left my hp in office. Guess what my mgr said?
"No choice la, pretty girl is like that wan, sure have people to help you"
I replied cheekily, "Ya lor, I also think so!"
Think my mgr was ready to faint there and then lor. Though on hindsight now, my mgr made me sound like such a bimbo... gosh. All I can say is, BIMBO, I'm NOT! And I was just re-telling hubby about this funny and cheeky conversation this morning as we prepared to go out and then I met Mr John....
Sure made my day =)
Me again, without my big-ass shades in my new hair style. Nice?
Cool, stylo milo right? Actually I already tonned down... last night when Maron was first done, it was wayyy more PUNK!
I think I tonned down coz I don't know how to style my short crop the way she does la.

1st TMA for the sem
Submitted the first TMA for this sem about 2 hours ago... and I'm so glad that it's done. That assignment is tough! But after looking at the TMA 2 and TMA 3, I think TMA was simple. >.< I think this time, I'm going to really suffer already.
I really kind of regret that I did not go for the waiver exam early this year when I first enrolled. But it's not because I did not want to, rather it was because I was working that Saturday and cannot go.
Anyway, NO point thinking back, just continue to do my best and hopefully the tutor will be more lenient with the marks and then I can clear this silly Uni Cor module.
Come to think of it, I think this is my first TMA that I submitted so late! I usually try to submit my TMA by the late evening in order not to run the risk of having network congestion or what nots... Must strive harder to submit my TMA early and on time in future. Acutally, I had completed the TMA way in advance, just that I was not too sure on how to do the referencing, was waiting for my friends to complete so I can refer to their referencing. Also, I had kickbox so, by the time I was done with dinner and a shower, it was close to 1130 hrs that I submitted and the dateline is 2359 hrs of 7 Sep!
Enough senseless ramblings of silly TMA. Don't want to think of it anymore now that I've submitted and also the system has been programmed to stop receiving...
I just finished reading the TB for tomorrow's Cor lesson of "Action Learning". The book was not really simple to read but then I still manage to finish it. And for that, I think I really deserve a pat on my back! Have been reading it for days, doing a chapter a night. Something like that. Anyway, there's no point in just reading and not practicing. I'm hoping that during the lesson tomorrow, there's some practical parts to it, so whatever that I've read will have a deeper impression in my brain. =/
By the way, before Kickbox, I popped into Sasa since I was so early and I was so tempted to get more masks!! But thinking of Israel and also the boxful of masks I still have... I gave it a miss. I wanted to try the eye masks la.
And thank God, I did not buy any! Coz one of the girls bought a box and she shared it with me. Best of all, she knows someone working in Sasa and she manage to get a very good discount for the exact same eye mask I was eyeing!
Woo-hoo!!!
So instead of paying close to $5 a piece for the eye mask, I paid like $3++ for a piece.
Almost a $2 savings PER piece lei!!! So happy can?!
Haven't try it yet, but will do it next week since I've just done eye mask last night. And I think, to maintain my eyes, it's time to call it a night and guai guai go to bed.
I still have lessons tomorrow...opps! I mean later at 2.30pm. Poor hubby got to clean the house all by himself already. And the poor thing is working on Sunday 3pm - 8pm too!
Poor me also... will hardly get to spend time with hubby too. =(

I'm back but very tired.
Have been so super busy for the last few days, weeks maybe, and I don't even have the mood to blog about anything though I felt I have loads to say!
Anyway, too tired to write much just that I've manage to sell that purple dress which I'm not able to fit in, to a lady by the name of Mary. Well, Mary, I hope you will like this dress as much as I did. But more importantly, I hope you can fit in. Bye Bye Dress. I do like you, but you so short, I cannot fit inside. SO too bad. I still have a similiar in grey, waiting to be sold. =/
Then my new supervisor who is quite the accessories creator gave me a pair of earrings yesterday and it looks like this. Quite nice hor? She actually gave me a pair in Blue and Black before, but I seldome wear coz I'm just too lazy to bring out the various ones in my storage box.

Best Uncle I've ever met!
Last Sunday, as hubby and I was on our way to CTK for morning mass, we met the BEST SBS driver that we've ever met in our entire SBS bus rides ever!
It's this Indian driver that I only manage to take a side view off. He's really very nice, friendly and polite!
As the bus moves off, he'll say, next stop is what what what, and if the bell is pressed, he'll say, bus stopping. Don't get up first. Wait till the bus has stopped. Slowly, take your time, safetly is most important. When passengers get up, he greets them, when they get down, he wishes them have a nice day, goodbye. But sadly, I noticed, hardly anyone returned his greetings. =(
I'm sooo impressed by this driver! Really enjoyed the bus ride, very very much. Of course, I also can imagine if someone was in a rush or already late and he tells everyone to slowly, that passenger will be fraustrated. But nevertheless, where to find a driver like that?
I think SBS are now calling the drivers, "Bus Captains"? This indian uncle deserves the tittle 100%!!! Where to find someone like that who takes such pride in his job?
I hope, tomorrow as we go for mass, we'll get to see him again! =D

You all probably know by now that hubby and me will be going to Israel end of this year right? SO in the process of saving $$ for the trip, there are definitely somethings that we cannot save on right?

Promoted!
I've been feeling pretty lazy in blogging recently. Also partly owing to the fact that I hardly have time to even breadth at work, hence the lack of updates.
I'm currently so tied down with work as we're gonna have this 1 day competition next week which leads to the grand opening which will be held in mid October... and even at this moment in time when the competition is next Wednesday, there are things which are not confirmed or needs to be changed and finalised. My goodness!
Anyway, that aside. I wanna shout to the world....
I had a PROMOTION!!!! =D
My darling Goddaughter, Clara is finally here!!! Today!! =D
From the mms that her mommy sent me, she's a cutie, definitely going to break some hearts when she grows up and she's sooo adorable and cute!
Will be going to visit her tomorrow and to meet her for the 1st time!
I'm excited! =D

Convert me...
Ever since my beautician recommended me to Cellnique, Pro Sebum Gel, I'm sold.
That drop of goodness really helps me to reduce my black/white heads and also my facial pores are not so obvious anymore. Plus, this gel is totally NOT oily and it gets absorbs into the skin very fast! I'm a fan mann.
So last week, before my weekly kick box, I went to Sasa again, actually with JUST the intention of getting Tri's present but I walked around and after getting Tri's present, I saw that Cellnique is having promotion.
Buy 1 and get a 5ml Pro Sebum Gel free. Which I think is very useful for my upcoming trip, which by the way, I'm already starting to look around for miniatures of items that I'm using so that I don't have to bring the big bottles of everything I'm using all the way to Israel.
Anyway, back to Cellnique, so buy 1 bottle of the Pro Sebum and get a 5ml free. I was tempted to just get 1 bottle, since I'm using it and also can keep a new bottle at home lor.
Just as I was going to walk away with just 1 bottle, the SA came up to me and told me that buy 2 bottles and get the "Algae Cleansing Gel" with Green Tea extract in Full size, totally free, which is not being sold in Singapore currently. Of course, she went on to say how good how good it was la. But I was really thinking I also don't use other cleansers ma, using and happy with Fancl. Then I think think, cleansers... more or less the same la. If this is free, then I also can save on Fancl lor. So ok la. Maybe it's a good deal after all. =/
So I went ahead and got myself these... yups... 2 bottles of Cellnique Pro Sebum Gel... which I think can last me till the end of this year on daily usage without having to buy anymore.
But remember, what interests me was the 5ml freebie, not the cleanser. SO, I asked the SA, if I get 2 bottles, means I only get the cleanser but not the 5ml right? She say ya. =/ Then I told her, if that's the case, I'll just get 1 bottle since I'm not using the cleanser.
But, these SA also good lar. They have such sweet mouth and also to make you purchase more and more, they'll say... "ok la, for you, special. I give you the Gel also but you don't tell others la... But of course, tell your friends got the Cleanser promotion!"
So, in the end, I got myself 2 bottles of the full size of the Sebum Gel and along with it, came the freebies.... =) There's also a white bag that is given with a purchase of above $120.Anyway, that bag is not very nice... but since I don't really like it, I can either sell it or just give it to someone lor... which this "someone" has not materialized yet.
The cleanser box looks very big hor, actually when open up, inside there's a 1/3 stand that makes the bottle stand right in the middle thus giving the impression that the cleanser is a big bottle. But actually, it's not very big lor! About the normal size of those liquid cleaners that can be bought from the market. And according to the SA, the cleanser is worth RM$89. How true, I'm not sure. And I can only say hor, this Cellnique really does make sure that their sample products are NOT for sale, with their labels being plastered round the box.
So, yups, happy with my purchases coz I did not overspend since this is something that I'll need to get down the road for my expensive face.
Best is that, along the way, can save $$ on my some other items! =D

I came across someone's blog and there was this entry that really caught my attention and here is the snipets of it...
"For example, if this chick had a boyfriend and he promised to call her while he was out drinking with his friends, but he forgot, I think most probably he’s going to get into trouble, unless he’s dating a subservient shunu."
Go read it here for the full glory!
Now, don't you think that it was a suberp entry on mere men and emtional women?
hahahahaha...
I absoultely love it!

Random Post
Was browsing through and also in the midst of clearing up the photos in my hp and came across some photos... And I know that I wanna blog about all these. Just that work has hit the "Code Red" standard thus I do not have the time to do so during office hours. Wanted to blog at night but totally forgot about it till now... So ya, finally. Here they are.
Starting off with the new Indian store in the school canteen, which has gone through a 2 week renovation eons ago...
This store sells Pratas. Different kinds. As a meal or as desert! Cheese prata, mushroom prata, CHOCOLATE prata... Plain or egg. You choose!
Here is the Mushroom Prata. Nice and crispy on the outside. Soft and fluffy inside, filled with lots of sliced button mushrooms. PLUS the curry is soo good!
And this is the Paper Thosai. Thin and crispy! The way I like it! Shiok! Felt as though I was eating biscuit. I like!!!
And the worse thing is, I had BOTH for lunch!
Heavy lei!!! I felt so sleepy after that. Actually, it was because, I did not expect both to be so big!!! Usually paper things are quite light, so I ordered 1 more item to go with it. And I barely had room to fit both into my stomach! But it was good! Really very good!
I heard, this stall is a subsidiary of "The Prata House" wor.... So come on down to my campus and give it a shot la. Some more, it's cheaper than what you'll have to pay in Prata House lor.
Then!! Today, an ex colleague came back for a visit and with her visit, she brought along some dough nuts for us. It's not any branded dough nut but it sure looked pretty!
Don't you think it's too pretty for words?
And when I bite into it, it's soft and not overly sweet! I like. =) Speaking of dough nuts, I've YET to try those from Factory Dough nuts.. since every time, I pass by, the queue is snaking itself round and round various shops. So I decided to give it a miss!
Also, I know this is currently the lunar 7th month. But come next month it's the Mid Autumn's Festival and along with it, my all time favorite biscuit will be available... in fact, it's ALREADY available.
Don't you remember as a kid, you'll get to eat those mooncake crust biscuit in the shape of a small pig in small, plastic, colourful basket? I used to nibble nibble on the biscuit so that the biscuit will last and last. And I usually bite off the butt and slowly work my way up to the head, then the snout of the piggy too!
Or even when the adults are eating the moon cakes, I'll just bite off the crust =P and leave the fillings there... Then after finishing off the biscuit, I'll hang the baskets all round the house and pretend that they are little little lanterns! After all, another highlight of mid autumn is the lighting and parading round the park with lighted, paper, plastic musical lanterns!
I remembered my granny will be screaming her head off at me to keep the baskets or to throw it away. I used to have so many!! Red, Green, Blue, Purple and Pinks! I had them all! =P But of course, I did not keep since every year, I'll definitely get to have some more.
This year, of course, I got myself the biscuits. My mom saw me eyeing them when I went to buy bread and she immediately asked me, "want to eat har? take lor" =D Mom knows me best! To date, I've already eaten 2 (and mid autumn is NOT even round the corner yet!!!) and I have another 1 in the food basket.... soon... soon.
Little Miss Piggy waiting to be dissolve in my mouth!
I've no idea why. But I simply LOVE this piggy biscuit! hahahaha...

I feel...P-I-S-S-E-D!!!
I've no idea why and I simply CANNOT understand why too!
Maybe, you, gentlemen out there can explain to me, why on earth when I asked hubby a question, he simply WILL not answer me?
It can't be he did not hear me, because just 1 second ago, he replied me. Cannot be the next second, he suddenly did not hear me right?
It cannot be my question is too tough to answer, and he need to think soo long. My question was merely "Do you think from Dome to our house, I should go down now?" Ok.. I know the question don't make sense, but I was talking to him just 1 second ago telling him, I'm meeting Cin downstairs and she's traveling from Dome to our place in a cab. Followed by the question. Hence, I don't think he need a full 10 seconds to answer me "Yes" or "No".
And I can prove that he was just not bothered to answer me. Coz I was talking to him just a few seconds ago. So he know full well that I was there. He knew that the conversation had not ended as I had just asked him a question. I had to do a very very loud "OEI" before he answered me.
I'm pissed.
I've told him countless times, if he hears me, answer me!!!! Ok, he need not answer me in full or have a ready answer all the time. But being a woman, I accept answers such as "hmmm", "Ya", "orh" or just a nod from him!!!
But he just refused to do so!
WHAT IS SO DIFFICULT IN GIVING ME AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT HE HAD HEARD ME????
And this is NOT the first time! I've told him countless times to at least acknowledge me!!!
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No more turning back.
Booked our seats for Israel end of this year this afternoon. From this moment on, I really must save. No more unnecessary purchases!
Costs include almost everything except for our winter clothings and also travel insurance. Still another amount of $$ to be spent. So MUST, M-U-S-T save!!
Collected lots of stuff from Jeanie earlier today too. Wine mask, eye masks and cosmetics. Which I've already paid for much earlier.Very heavy lei! 2 tubs of Red Wine gel masks, 1 box of Lavender and Rose eye mask. (Still waiting for a box of Lily & Jasmine mask, which Jeanie forgot to take and I forgot to pass her, her CD! -_-"), an eyeliner, eyebrow pencil and the MM mascara.
Nothing much for today, rather standard day, lunch, take things, sign and book tour, mass and then dinner.
The good thing was, I finally found a black A line skirt for my jackets and formal wear events! I only have 1 formal skirt now and that piece is so over worn that it's beginning to have little fur balls sticking to the material and also it's just a tad short. So, I've been looking for a A line skirt for some time, and I finally found it in G2000 after dinner! Best is it's on sale, so I only pay $23 for that.
Also got myself another pair of black pants, which is a bit pricy, but their pants suit me so no choice... and since my current pair has split open... I got to get a new pair =/ Growing too fat that's why! =(
And after these 2 purchases, I bought nothing else.
I'm on a "save $$$ mission", I know. So I cannot anyhow spend anymore.

Awake!
A few hours after I've made that super long post and went to bed, (for the record, I went to bed at 3am this morning) I'm now awake. Bright-eyed and rather well rested. =)
Today is sort of a busy day ahead. I originally planned to get up real early and do some chores before stepping out of the house... but the bed simply is too comfortable to do that. Hence, now, there's only enough time for me to write a few lines, eat a light breakfast and then get ready to go out.
Will be meeting hubby in town at 12+ for lunch and also to collect my spree items from Jeanie. Will need to buy a Bday present for Tri, then need to go down to Aljunied where the Tour Agency is. Then mass in town and then was supposed to have dinner with the Styleweddings gang. But most of them can't make it and I'm not too keen for BB Clara and parents to make their way to town tonight as the the annual fireworks will be on too!
So no choice, had to cancel the dinner, and the next gathering will be when BB Clara decides to greet the world at her 1st month celebration. I'm 100% sure that hubby and me will be invited! We ARE the godparents! How not to be invited? No invite, we also go. Gatecrash!!! hahahah...
Ok... need to run... time is not on my side... still need breakfast, bathe and doll up.

Sleepless night...
Not sure why, but for some strange reason, I can’t get to sleep on a nice cooling night such as this.
Maybe it’s cause, I wanted to finish reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the 2nd time, maybe I’m feeling too energetic after the work out session earlier, maybe, I wanted to get started on TMA02 of the silly effective communications (EC), maybe, I’m still slightly bothered about the tiff I had with hubby yesterday, maybe, just maybe, I kind of enjoy sitting alone in this small study room, reading, surfing net, looking and reading from the EC text from time to time, listening to late night music with a cool breeze blowing my way all the time. I hardly have the chance to sit and be alone nowadays, doing nothing and just to enjoy the serenity of the late nights, with no one to bother or distract me.
I feel at peace with the world, at peace with myself. It’s just such bliss to be sitting here, doing what I want to do and have the whole (almost) house to myself.
Not really sure, why I’m suddenly feeling so antisocial or withdrawn, this is so unlike me. But I guess, every person need to find themselves sometime, somehow. And this seems to be the way that I can ‘connect’ myself to myself.
Nothing much has been happening. Except that work is taking a toll on me. I’ve been making phone calls after phone calls, to physical people, who are 1) super hard to get 2) never return phone calls and 3) are not interested in what I have to offer.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not doing insurance or some other MLM or goodness knows what… Just that we are in the midst of preparing for a major event in mid Oct. And till now, for the preliminary session on 5 Sep, we’ve not manage to reach our target number of teams. So, that’s what I’ve been doing, calling and calling potential “customers” to send in teams for this competition. And yes, to NO avail. Since, 90% of the time, I can’t reach them. We’ve already sent hard copies of the letters thru snail mail, email, REPEAT emails AND phone calls now. Still NO response. It’s ok if they don’t want to participate, at least let us know! So we can drop them from the list and concentrate on others, instead of making me call and call and call the SAME person!!!
Hai…. Pretty sucks. Ya.
Then I had a tiff with hubby last night. True, it has upset me a bit. It’s about his choice to study or not and also what course to take if he were to bite the bullet and do it. I know I should not force him to take a course nor from an institution if he is not willing or not comfortable to do the program with them. But what irked me was that, he seem to not be able to make up his mind. One moment, he could be telling me, he want to do engineering, the next business related course, one moment, tell me he want to upgrade himself and continue study. Yet, his actions (or rather lack of it) seems to tell me that he is not interested in pursuing a bachelor degree.
To be honest, I’m fine with it either way, whether he do it or not, whether is it business related or engineering related. It doesn’t bother me much. Though of course, for his sake, I do think that he should go and upgrade. But, if he doesn’t and is not interested to, then don’t. What really made me upset was that, he can’t seem to make up his mind! Needless to say, stick to the decision.
I really feel, as his wife, I’ve said what I can and should say. I’ve already done what I can, short of just lying the cards on the table and tell him, “Look, you should enroll with XXX and do this program.” I’ve asked him questions hoping that he will search himself on his strengths and weakness and in the process come up with possible solutions, programs, institutions and situations that he can make his final decision. Yet, all I see is his indecisiveness and lack of actions in doing anything.
I am the spouse, not the mother, and I have no wish to behave like a mother hen, pecking at him to do this and that. Hubby is old and mature enough to take responsibilities for his own actions. At times, like this, I really feel lousy…
But on the bright side, owing to my own silly-ness, my lessons do not commence till Sep, so I’m pretty free still. So, I try to do my EC TMAs in advance, though they are not due till early Sep, mid Sep and early Oct. My plan is to actually finish them by the end of this month! So that, come next month, when my main modules start, I can devote more time on it.
Or maybe, the reason of my sleepless night is also partly owing to financial reasons? I’ve sooooo overspend last month that I’ve to take $ from my savings account to pay for my purchases.
Feeling the heat now, especially since, in a matter of hours, we’ll be making a trip to the tour agency to make our booking and deposit for our year end pilgrimage to Israel. It’s not exactly expensive, considering that the price includes meals, accommodation, flights, transport, guide and also the mandatory tips. But still, it’s at least $8K for the both of us. I know, we can still back out at this moment, since we have not pay the deposit. But, we both (or rather, me, VERY much) want to go. Hubby is the usual “ok lor” kind of attitude.
Thank God, hubby at least holds a job now, so even though, we have a trip to be saving for now, there’s income to cover it.
The other reason why this issue is bothering me is also if hubby decides to study, then how and where we find funds for his school fees? I know there are various loans available, but we wish to avoid that if possible. So the only way left? Save, save, SAVE!!!!
Knowing myself, this 4 letter word hardly appears in my dictionary. I can’t seem to master the art of savings and reduce my expenses. I know why. Too little discipline and too many temptations.
Also, I can’t help but also worry about how on earth I’m gonna manage my studies for this semester. Though my main lessons start in Sep, I know for modules like this, (5 credits), there are 2 online quizzes and a group project to be handled in early and mid October! It’s also right smack into the major event that I’m involved in.
Some of my classmates have taken these 2 modules, and ALL of them agree that it’s not easy! Among all of them, there’s 2 of them who had to re-sit for the papers at the end of this semester! Which means, though they have sat for the paper last sem, they failed and they’ll be doing 1 of the modules with me at the end of this semester! How not to be worried and troubled?
Hai…
And yeah, so all this worrisome thoughts are going thru my brain and hence rob my sleep. But even though, I've been awake since 6.30 am (yesterday, though it still feels like today), I'm not the least bit tired and counting the hours, I've been awake for almost 20 hours now. I wonder, just how much more longer am I going to sit here and blog and not go to sleep?
Of course, hubby is asleep now since he's working tomorrow later. He had to change his shift as I've signed up for the marriage workshop on 1 Sep, which as usual, he gave his famous "ok lor" response and honestly, he was not keen in going. But as always, he leave the decision to me. =/
I guess, the toll of all these are finally getting to me, I'm feeling very lousy from all these, and I need an area to vent it all out.
I'm sick and tired of making plans, of laying down plans, of listening to "ok lor" and also rather sick of having conversations with a man who seems so fickle minded. Of having to make phone calls after phone calls to almost non-existent people, of having to do research, homework on those assignments, worrying about the quizzes, projects (which are sure to come) and also exams. Sick of my overspending and having to fret over financial issues.
Can say that I worry too much since those quizzes, projects and exams don't even come till Oct, but, in a flash it's gonna be here and with work stress pilling up, I'm really not confident of handling it all.
I'm also very tired of making all the decisions. I want to sit back, relax and be pampered too. I want to enjoy, take a backseat and let hubby plan and decide, but he just won't. He simply just W-O-N-T! I've no idea why. But my gut feelings tell me it's that cause, all these time, I've been doing it and he is simply too comfortable and happy to let me to continue doing it.
I really must stop spending sooo much. Would cutting up my credit cards, ATM card be a good way to start, you reckon?
I never knew, I'm feeling all these at the same time. I thought I was at peace with the world and myself. Guess, I'm not so peaceful after all. =/
