In a short span of 24 hours, I received news that 2 of my church friends met with an accident.
Thank God, that they are both all right, the person is fine but the car is not, from what I can imagine, the car seems to be in a total wreck.
The first case actually happened last wk, but I only heard about it on Thursday night. A friend's son was driving home and should have nodded off and crashed into the lamp post. The boy was shaken but suffer no injuries. Thank God for that.
Th next came yesterday morning when I've barely warm my seats in office. He called and said he met with an accident the before before.
Some uncle was speeding, spun and crashed into him, causing him to spin and crashed into the barrier. His car is took on the whole impact while he is ok. Praise God!
So please, drivers out there, please be careful on the road. Be it yourself or others. The wet weather these days are not helping. Please, please be careful.
Think of yourself and your loved ones before you decide to try anything funny!
Lord God, thank you so much for protecting them from harm. Though the car is wrecked but more importantly they suffered no injuries. Thank you so much for your grace and protection.
Amen!

Funny Character
There's this funny character near my place and I usually will meet him in the morning as I wait for my bus.
In the morning, he will walk to the bus stop and then stand at the yellow line to wait for his bus.
Nothing unusual you say?
Well, not when he stands THIS close to the edge of the bus stop. I personally think he is a hazard to himself and to others.
In the mornings, there are many buses that stops at this bus stop, not to mention, some cars also stop to pick up or let their passengers alight.
He has to stand ON the yellow line to wait for his bus. =/ The bus he waits for is HUGE. It's the new double decker bus, cannot miss. And there's only ONE new double deck that comes this way. So it's really very very outstanding.
I say he post a danger to himself and others because, even when the buses comes near, and we all know that there's this side mirror that protrudes out that sometimes eats abit "into" the paveway, he will still stand there and NOT siam at all! Rain or Shine, he will stand there.
Actually, I cannot be bothered as to where he stands.
What bothers me is this.
Most importantly is, I do NOT want to witness an accident early in the morning since we all know that sometimes, cars, busses or don't know what can just slam into the bus stop.
That aside, he is very weird. =/
If his bus is late, he will stop the next bus that comes (not his bus) and ask the driver, "what is taking number XXX so long?" or "What time will number XXX come?" Heh! I guess, he must have not seen the advertisements. He should be asking "Iris" not the next bus driver that comes along.
And actually, the most funny thing is, if he sees his bus already at the bus stop and he is across the road, he will be flagging his arm wildly in the air, making some noise in order to get the bus driver to wait for him. That is really quite a sight.
Then obviously the bus will leave right? Since he is across the road, haven't even start to cross yet that kind. Then once he reach this side, he will be mumbling and grumbling! hahahaha...
Personally, other than slightly worried about his safety, I find him very funny!
So, if any of you know this man, please warn him of safety ok?

Should I be worried?
Recently, because of work, I got to know this colleague of mine whom makes me feel very stressed and freaky...But I've no idea which department he is from till recently...
I've actually met him a couple of times before on the bus in the morning when I come to work. I know we are colleagues, coz we walk the same way to office when we are on the same bus. I did not take much notice of him, besides knowing that he is big sized. Other than that, the only other thing is that I remembered he gave way to me once when we were both trying to get off the bus. Other than that, I don't know anything else about him.
What happened was that owning to the Fiscal year closing, we are all busy trying to close accounts, spend $$ and trying to generally find ways to snip all loose ends. So I was trying to do the same to some of my dept's purchases then I found out, I have to go thru him.
Spoken to him a few times over the phone and I already did not have a good impression of him. He sounded too sleepy and tired. Not that kind of "perk-me-up" voice that I normally hear. Anyway, till this moment in time, I still cannot put the face to the name.
But then, one evening while I was waiting for the bus to come, he came up to me and asked me if I'm so and so. He got it wrong. So I said. No. I'm not. After giving him my name, I asked him who he is. Then! BINGO! He was the guy whom I've been chasing for the past few weeks! So, finally I can put the face to the name. And trust me, by then, I honestly do not like what I see. Slity bleedy eyes, big size (fat), slightly balding and overall impression was just not good.
Then a few days later, while walking to office, he came up behind me and started talking to me. Normal ma. You say. Well... maybe. But... a few days later, I had to go to find him to ractify something... and that was just before lunchtime.
After the document was done, I left. Met him again at the lift.... and the whole converstaion went like this.
Him: Wanna go lunch?
Me: Can't. I don't have $$ with me. All in my office
Him: Nvm, we can go back to take.
Me: No la. My office not near this block.
Him: Nvm la. I can wait.
Me: But I'm already meeting another colleague for lunch.
Him: We can all go together lor.
I had no choice but to agree already right? Lunch was with my kaki, I dare not go alone with him. He does not make me feel safe. So I dragged my kaki with me.
Then came the shock. 2 days after meeting this guy, my kaki told me, her bf is his camp mate. And that he is "well known" in camp for having many many sexual relationships with women. The woman he selects are 1) Married 2) Big Boobs
I don't know if I'm overly senstitive or what, but I noticed that when I do see him in the bus now, he tends to "walk" my path and look in my direction more....
I happened to fall into both of hs sick categories. So tell me, la. worrying not?!

Pass with "C" please.
The time is now 4.18am... and I've JUST completed revising the Accounting chapter on Cash flow that was covered in class on Friday.
I think this time, I really need help for accounting. Honestly speaking, I've no idea what I've been doing for the past 6 weeks during class. At the moment now, I can't understand what was being taught nor can I seem to do any of the questions that was covered. =(
I need help!
Surprisingly, I've not slept a wink for the whole day since waking up at 10.30am yesterday and I'm still mentally and physically alert.
My brain is feeling overwhelmed already, hence, I shall call it an end to my day thus far and crawl into my warm bed in a matter of minutes.
I sincerely pray, that I can get a "C" for Accounting. =(

I. WANT.
I want a
in either Chocolate, Saddle or Brown. Which I've asked Bro to get for me. Hopefully, he will. But I seriously doubt he will. =(
I want a
in either Optic Pink, Signature, Hampton Signature, Hampton Scarf in Gold or Optic Parchment. Which I'm kicking myself now, should have asked Via to get for me when she went to Sans Francisco last week. I actually asked her to get 2 swingpacks for another 2 friend, but decided that she has enough to carry and did not ask her to get a 3rd!
AND I want all these too!
Erase Paste, Big Beautiful Eyes, Get Bent Brush, You're Bluffing, Show Off in Bambi, Foundation Brush, Eye Con, Gel Eyeliner in Black Cherry and Brow Zings!!!! Mostly from Benefit Cosmetics, which again, I should have asked Via to get!
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
edited at 11.40pm to add, Hubby took one look at the post and said "Woah! You want so many things." And proceed to shake his head going "Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!" =(
There goes my hope of a sponsor.

Close call
Met THE physo twice this week in the bus in the morning.
Thank God, both times I brought my NDS, pretended to be VERY VERY busy playing it. Both times, I see familiar faces on the bus. Hurried to walk with them the moment I got my ass off the seats of the bus.
From now on, I'm making it a point to bring my NDS with me to work EVERY SINGLE day. I shall try to find familiar faces on the bus. If don't have.... I think I shall pretend to make phone calls, so as to 'siam' from talking to him, walking with him, as unfortunately, we work in the same place but different department.
WILL definitely give the signal that I'm NOT interested in having any kind of small talks with him at all.

That about summarises the relationship between my idiotic mgr and me.
I really have no idea what I did wrong or what is wrong with either him or me. Yesterday morning, the moment I stepped into office, he called me and asked me to go and see him as he needs to update me for the company's development.
This kind of thing, is just "to know" and no need to do anything else. Since when will the company take me, this small and lowly fry's comments into consideration right? So anyway, but it's still have to know, meaning someone will go on and on... I just have to pretend to listen. Nod and "ah" at the right time can already lor.
Anyway, expect big changes from my company.
I think HR really really should send my idiotic mgr to go for EQ course la. He can ask me, "So when you think back to the times when you were a student, what is the best thing that you gained from here? " I thought long and hard... actually there was nothing and my silence became too much for him to bear.
He answered "You got your hubby here ma."
Heh!!! -_-"
So is he trying to be 'friendly', 'joking' or is he implying something? Or am I thinking too much?
Whether I get my hubby from here or there does not matter to him right? This is my personal life too right?
I guess, I already dislike him too much hence no matter what he say, I will tend to over analyse.
And I think the best part was, he had to say all these after I spent a good 5 mins battling a silly cockroach the moment I woke up and went to the toilet. Here was that ugly, offensive thing lying on my bathroom floor!
Besides giving me a good fright, which ended waking me up totally and throwing all sorts of sleepiness from me, I ran round the already space limited bathroom with a can of insecticide in my right hand and my left hand waving madly in the air and thinking if I should wake up the still snoring hubby.
It got to a point, I'm not sure if I'm chasing that offensive thing or it was chasing me... =(
And that offensive thing crawled everywhere ok! The sink, the barrier, the toilet bowl.... it took me sometime before I finally dared and decided to sit on the toilet bowl... and that's because I can't hold it much longer. I was also half worried that I will slip and fall in the oily and wet bathroom. Insecticide is oily ma. Finally, finally, after many many sprays that I think must have missed that offensive thing. It turned over and faced the ceiling!!!
Victory is mine. MINE. MINE! MINE!!!!! whahahahahahahahahaha
Can you imagine I was doing all these without seeing clearly too? I'm blind as a bat without my trusted lens / specs lei. It's so torturous killing that roach. ARGH!
Finally after I wore my lens, I realised that offensive thing was at least 2cm long!!!! OMGoodness! I never realised it was that big lor!
So anyway, after a mind wrenching, heart pumping and nerves breaking battle in the morning and half fearing that I'll meet that physo on the way to work on the bus... I have to get this from the mgr. He really know how to choose the best timing. Honest.
In fact, he only choose such GOOD days!!

The CNY that past
Super long over dued... But I really do so want to include into my blog.
This year CNY was a long, relaxed and nice holiday for me. Espcially so when the first 2 days of CNY fall on Thursday and Friday. Wednesday was a half day for us coupled with festive lunch! This year, I'm very lucky too, managed to get a lucky draw item too. The items are lousy la, some cheena things but still, lucky to get something, best of all, the lucky number is "15" lei! That's my birthdate! =) Heng Heng hor?
Anyway, reunion dinner was a simple affair at my parent's plc this year. Compared to the stressful dinner I had in PIL's plc last year, this year is soo much more relaxing and enjoyable! At least, there were not criticisms that the food was not good.
Fast forward to Day 1 of CNY, went for morning mass in CTK, distributed AP then we went on to my grandma's place in AMK for lunch and distributed more AP. Stayed till about 2 and then we left for Yishun GV, where we caught Kung Fu Dunk, starring Jay. Quite nice, the effects were very kua chang but still, cool to watch. Jay was acting cool and cute in the show. He looks so adorable! The other basket ballers were the hunky sort. I like. I like! =)
I don't really like gng to his Grandma's plc. Coz it's overly crowded with a big MJ table set up in the hall. No space to sit, no space to stand. Plus it's very warm and humid. We had dinner there as well, but it was kind of a rush to eat dinner coz there'll be many many ppl queueing to eat right after you, so I also pai sey to sit there and hog the seat for too long.
The star this year was BB Nicholas. He just turned one. Fat, chubby baby. Very cute. hahaha.. But did not really have a chance to carry him as he's shy and afraid of all the crowd. I guess, the next star is OBIL. Coz he's planning his ROM on 18 Feb and when the relatives asked when is he getting married, his reply was "soon soon, getting flat, considering Yishun". hahahahaha... Quite tiring I think to repeat and repeat.
I had abit of the same too. Had to repeat, "Ya. Still studying. Graduating in Nov 09. No. Not planning Baby yet. After graduation" wah. really is tiring.
But thank God it's a once a year thingy that we go to his Grandma's house. I don't think I can stand it with all the heat, noise and crowd PLUS all the questionings. Went home at about 9pm feeling very warm and sticky. =(
2nd day of CNY - Went to my cousin's place in Sembawang. Chat with them and then played with my 2 nephews. Long time did not see them. Both boys are so big now. Very cheeky. But nice to play lor. Spent the whole afternoon and evening there.
3rd day of CNY - Another movie date with hubby. This time, we went to watch CJ7 at Hub. Lousy show but nice theater! I love the seats and theatre. The show.. waste my $$$. The plot and story is sooo predictable and it's not even funny at all. Stephen Chow has lost his touch. Bleh. After movie, went to Clement & Wise's house for dinner. =D Our little princess was all decked in white. So pretty and cute lor!
We all decided to take a walk at T3 after dinner and while waiting for the adults to get ready, Clara was "talking" to me too!
That little princess hor, she must like going out ALOT ALOT. While we were in the car, no matter what we say or make any face at her, her laughter just fills the whole car! SOOOOOOO happy and excited to be going out! hahahahah.... her infectious laughter of course also infected all of us, and we laughed along with her. The little darling... awwwww..
Anyway, I think half the population of Singapore is at T3 during this 3rd day of CNY. It was soooooo crowded. We wanted to go to T3 for coffee but end up no choice, had to take the sky trian to T2 for that coffee instead.
4th day of Cny - Nothing much, morning went for mass then had lunch and then we went home. Went to my parent's plc for dinner that night too. Along the way, one of these days, PIL called and asked if we wanted to go to so and so house or even go back home. We din want. Since
1) We had already met that particular so and so.
2) We had plans and not free.
3) I'm kind of lazy to travel.
Another thing I don't really understand, is it a practise to like visit the uncles / aunties house on a rotational basis? Like today go 2nd aunt's hse, tml the same gang to to 4th aunt's hse?? My family NEVER practise such things, so I actually find it a total waste of time and sooo tiring to travel from house to house visiting the same relatives. I mean already seen all, met all at the Grand's hse ma, still need to go round visiting? This year, we had 4 days of CNY holidays, other years, only 2 days, where got so much time to go here go there? Very tiring lei!
Monday was back to work. =( But I doubt many of us really worked coz still like festive mood. Wed, I was supposed to be on half day. But I was on MC for Wed and Thursday. So, just as well. Save my leave lei!
Went for a good lunch with my mom and 2 sisters, then we just walked round town, sight seeing. Really had an enjoyable afternoon with my mom and sisters. I think this is the first time, the 4 of us went out together like this. Lunch, window shopping and coffee. I feel like a tai tai!
I had to go for my facial at 6pm, my mom has a dinner appt with her friends, my 2 sis were supposed to go home but they again went shopping, so I joined them after my facial for another round. I did not get anything since I've overbought everything prior to CNY. So, it was really really window shopping for me.
Thursday, Valentine's Day and mugging at home. =( No choice. Had 2 assisgments due 1 day after the other. Better do something about it. No time to loose.
Friday.... My Hatch Day. Means another year older. After the 2 days of MC and it was my once a year special day, I decided to put my OT time to good use and claim off today. So, I was nuah-ing at home, supposed to be mugging and preparing for my lessons that evening. Obviously, I did not do as much as I had planned to.... being my birthday, I thought I can slacken and give myself a break. =P
Saturday, Hubby brought me to Hog's Breadth Cafe, but I've already blogged on that... so fast forward to Sunday. It's also a once a year thingy for me, but I definitely have to go to my Kai Ye's plc somewhere in Telok Blangah. It's a home temple kind of thing. So while my family prays and do the necessary, Hubby and I will just sit there waiting for the prayers to end and then tuck in to a scumptous vegetarian meal! =)
That about summarise my CNY holiday.... the rest of the other days were just, eat, work, sleep, study. Nothing interesting about it at all.
Oh! the next most intersting thing was, I struck the Toto Hong Bao draw lei!!! =) But only $20. =(
But then again, this is the first time, I've strike, I got the "02", "15", "19" and "25" so I'm still very happy! =D Point to note hor, is I got the "15" again lei. My birthdate this year seems to be my lucky number lei! whahahahahahahahahahahah Some more hor, I got my full birth date this time too! "1502"·
Shall buy some more then.
HUAT ar!!!!!!!!!!!!
But cannot be too greedy also ok. Buy abit to play play can liao hor. =P

Kena for no good reason
I've been trying to tace some expenses that were incurred last year for one of our joint mega event with other schools... This period of the year is the finacial closing, hence I really need to get it out and done before the financial year closes because all the other schools will be having the same period of closing.
I've given the necessary documents since 2 weeks ago. Granted that, that week was CNY, but still 2 weeks and the document is still not processed! Of course, my higher ups want it done quick and fast and obviously, they chased me. So of course, I chased them.
But I just got a nasty call from the higher up on the other side and she was soooo angry on the phone with me! As though it's my fault that this thing happened.
Come on, I gave the document more than 2 weeks ago, on 6 Feb! Till now, the amount is not ready and right. And I asked for the breakdown and summary, there is nothing wrong with that right?! I'm just doing my job and my part to make it right.
Hence, I kena for nothing. In fact, I kena for doing my job too well. I should have just any-oh-how and bill the other schools mann and save myself from all these things! =(
But, I must say, I have a very very nice and supportive nice mgr (another mgr, not that idiotic one) too. The moment he got my sms on this, he called me immediately. This was the reason why I do my job so well.
Ok, time to go home... =/ Feeling a little low now...having to kena for doing my job well. =(

My current favourite song.
Is none other than this song,愛愛 by Gary Cao Ge.
Enjoy.
Very cute right the song? I especially like the beginning of the song, where there are 2 lines of Cantonese. So cute lor I feel.
The lyrics are also very loving and sweet. Tune is catchy!
Lyrics as follows... I got the lyrics here.
Just so cute la the song.

Another hardworking night
There's something with Fridays that I must be working on my school work. I have no idea why my group mates and I will choose Friday to work real late into the night.
Today is another example. After the lesson at 10, we again went to McD in King Albert to do our group project. This time, we did not dilly dally and we started work on it almost immediately after getting some snacks and drinks. (Have to get some food / drinks so that we can stay inside, else sure kena chased out!)
And so we worked. And worked. And worked. We did not take any breaks. We were very very focused. We trudged thru the questions one by one and we finally finished. But, the answer is wrong. =( Damn disappointing. But in a way, we sort of expected it, as during the process itself, we were all sort of guessing what to put where. Like that how to get it right?!
Anyway, we worked at it till 2am... divided the rest of the work among the 4 of us. We agree that we will each submit our own portion by Wed. So that we can take the rest of time left to vet thru, edit and touch up before submitting on Saturday.
Again, I cabbed home. Where else to get transport at 2am besides cab? In my entire life, I've never taken cab as frequent as these 2 weeks. Once a week sia... Very expensive lei!
I'm dead tired. Eyes are sore, body is sore. Brain is almost dead. But still, must put in this before I call it a night.
Earlier today, Irene and I went to Hub for lunch and we drop by The Face Shop. To be honest, I have nothing to buy. But I saw their Oil Eye Make Up remover. My current Benefits does not work well. Hence I need to get something for the stubborn mascara. Given the kind of schedule I am currently running, I'm NOT interested in standing at the basin to wash it off slowly.
Hence, I got it. Must try then know if it's good right? Anyway, it's $17.90. Not that bad la. About the regular price I'm paying for others too. Anyway, I've just used it. It feels pretty good. I wet the cotton pad left it there for a while and wipe off. Voila! Came off! A few more wipes and all off!!! Good. Good. Will try it out a few more times when I use MORE layers of mascara. Today, I just happen to use 1 single layer. Irene saw me got it and she was intrigued by the color and then the distinct layer of oil and water. hahahahaha.... I would say, the colour is what attracted her more... coz I was attracted to it at first. This being in one of her preferred colours...
The actual bottle looks even prettier with the greens in 2 layers and the bottle in clear.
I was just keen to get this item. Then we continued to browse around and I saw another item that made me go "WOW"!
I saw this!
It's a Rasberry Roots SLEEPING Mask!
Taken off the Face Shop webby....
"Concept
This advanced lifting line formulated with Wild Himalayan Raspberry Roots instantly lifts tightens pores and re-contours the skin that lacks resilience.
Description
Nourishes hydrates and relaxes skin through the night - Convenient. Does not need to be washed off."
And on the instruction of the bottle, it says...
"Skin problems? Try sleeping on it with this overnight beauty mask and wake up with porcelain smooth skin. Uniquely formulated with wold Himalayan Raspberry roots and grain extracts to increase elasticity and tightens pores, while throughly hydrating and replenishing skin of lost nutrients. Supplemented with Tephroline, which promotes the natural secretion of pleasure-inducing beta endorphins in skin for an immediate and uncommon sensation of well-being, and Mallotus and Machilus bark extracts to stimulate the formation of collagen for more youth skin.
Directions: For use as a final step in your nightly moisturizing routine. Spread evenly over face avoiding the lips and areas around the eyes before going to bed. Rinse throughly with warm water the following morning."
It certainly sounded like a dream come true to all my beauty woes... All these time, I feel that my skin is not hydrated enough especially when I'm in air con the whole day. But I really do not have the luxury to mask daily, not even on alternate with lessons going on! I thought this little bottle of sleeping mask will be useful. Put it on, go to bed and let it do it's work! Immediately, I called Irene and she's interested too. Needless to say, we each got one bottle.
The friendly SA choose to come up this time to recommend more and said, lifetime membership with purchase of $100. PLUS, this membership comes with a smaller corner that can be given to anyone. So which means, 2 persons can get the membership card at the same time! Of course, me alone cannot get so much. So, Irene and me combined and we each left with a joint membership card + a little heart shaped mirror accessory in red / pink. I don't have to say which colour I choose right?
I think this joint membership idea of Face Shop is brillant! I mean, what harm to they have when they give another person the membership right? It's FREE marketing and promotion from their existing member!
Seeing that we just spent about $50 each and we each got a card, both of us are happy, it's really a smart move of them.
Kuddos to their marketing team! Well Done!!!
Ok, I'm calling it a night... and off to try my sleeping mask. Night!

Idiotic Manager!
I was down for 2 days last week and was given MC by my GP. Having the flu, sore throat and fever.
Just went to give the MC to my idiotic manager (mgr) to sign and he again went on with his.. "You really quite weak hor?"
Super PISSED off!
I swear, the next time I am sick, I WILL go to his damn office, make sure I spread him my virus!
STUPID, IDIOTIC Mgr. How on earth for someone at Managerial level to go and question his staff like that?!
And he have the cheek to say, "ever since your chicken pox, you very weak hor". My pox was in Oct 2005! Till now, still harping on it? And he bloody well think I want to have the pox is it?! I also don't want the pox lor!!!
I checked thru my medical records for the last 3 years, since he keep harping on my pox. Fine! I go and check.
2005; 11 days in total (Pox took 7 days!)
2006; 10 days in total
2007; 7 days on MC and 19 days on Hospitalization Leave, 26 days in total (Don't he dare to say anything about my hospitalization to me, if he does, I swear I'm going to go right up to Director and even HR if he does. Yes, it IS that serious.)
2008; 2 days and counting
Alot? Maybe. But it's not I want right? And I am given 30 days entitlement for MC and 60 days for Hospitalization PER year.
I did not even use up 50% annualy lor. What the F*** is he complaining?!
TMD!

Belated Birthday Celebration
Not that hubby forgot my birthday, hence the belated birthday celebration but rather it was because we both had lesson on my actual BDay. So, no choice, have to do it later. Since the before is Valentine's Day and I think it will be crazy to go and fight with others to eat out.
Early today, after I woke up (which I must say I hardly got any sleep), Hubby told me, he bought me a small cake and he had left it in the fridge. And I did not even noticed it!
He bought me 2 slices. Cheese cake and Chocolate. Both I like! =) It's not his style to be doing this kind of surprises and I really like it. I ate half of the Cheese cake and saved it for him. As for the chocolate cake, it looked too pretty to be eaten immediately, so I waited for him to be back from work and shared it with him too.
We went to Hog's Breadth Cafe at CHIJMES for dinner. I like the colorful, cheerful motif on the wall and the whole restaurant feels very cozy and nice.
By the time we went there after going for sunset mass in St. Peter's and Paul's, the restaurant was still pretty empty. Except for a few diners who were there, the whole restaurant was virtually empty! Not sure if it was because, we were early? Or maybe their food is not nice? Or maybe more ppl go for drinks instead. Whatever it was, we soon settled down to place our orders and to enjoy our evening together.
Hubby and I were shown to the corner table, at first, I really like the privacy and coziness at the side. But, that table has the air con unit right by the side. And within minutes, we were both FREEZING COLD! No choice, had to change seats to the normal boring small square table! =( So disappointing lor.
Hubby and I looked thru the menu excitedly and finally, we made our choice. We ordered the finger platter (so that we can try abit of everything of their appetizers) and also one main. Yup, just 1 main. As I've heard that the portions are usually big and we did not want to waste our food. Anyway, if the serving is not enough, we can always placed our orders again.Finger Platter - Comes with Buffalo's wings, Chicken Tenders, Calamari rings and Potatoe wedges with bits of bacon and sour cream.
Our main - El Grande Prime something something... I forgot the name la. The highlight was the 300g meat topped with salsa cheese, tomatoes and jalapeños. I quite like the taste of it, and it's better than beef in the sense that though there are fats, the fats can be bitten, chewed and swallowed. I know not very healthy, but the purpose of going to Hog's is to eat the meat with the fats!
The fats lend a very tasteful and flavorful experience to the whole dining experience! Sides can be chosen and we had veggies and a baked potato to complete the meal.
Believe me, we wanted to order a Mud Pie at first, but on second thoughts, we both decided to adopt a wait and see mentality and we are glad that we did that! Cause, after we polished off the food, we had no room for dessert at all!
So glad that we did not order the dessert together with all the food right in the beginning, else we'll both be so full, that we can feel our stomachs are ready to burst! But I must say, it was also quite disappointing to not have dessert. I love Mud Pies! So far, the best I've tasted is still from Hard Rock. Love Love LOVE it!
Hog's Bar.... So bright and colourful! Again, I must have a picture before we leave. =) Abit blur, as I was in a hurry to snap and leave. =P
A last shot of us before we made payment and leave Hog's. Took me quite a few attempts before getting this shot too. =(
And finally...Happy Belated Birthday to Myself! =)... which I think must add, he must have seen my previous post about the number of candles thingy... hence the really small cake. whahahahahaha...

me and myself 2
I'm being a very, very hardworking girl on my birthday this year, I must say.
First, I had lesson tonight (or rather last night) on the silly Accounting, which I did NOT skip lesson, though I'm very tempted to.
Second, I actually spent the night working on the online quiz together with a few of my classmates / coursemates in McD in King Albert Park. Because, (1) we are not sure if we will be locked in school. (2) My friends are hungry - no dinner earlier. (3) I'm desperate to do the quiz with help. Cause I know I will not be able to do it on my own.
But after spending 2 solid hours in McD with 3 of them, we also had a friend who helped us from home, I managed to get a B for my quiz. Not that bad ya? Quite pleased with it already. Considering that my results is one of the better grades among the rest of them too!
Third, I reached home at 1.30am. (Hubby was woken up by me, he came to say "Hello" and "Goodnight" before falling back to lala land. After I've taken my shower, obviously I can't go to bed yet since my hair is wet. So while waiting for my hair to dry, I decided to take out my earlier notes to do some revision and to transfer the scribblings I had into clean sheets of paper. On hindsight now, I think it's a totally bad idea!
By the time I am done, it was close to 3am. And then I realized, my brain is OVER stimulated! Despite having tired eyes and body. I don't feel tired! That quiz earlier had all of us putting our brain on overtime, over zealous mode. Then with the earlier revision, trying to recall just what on earth the silly tutor was saying, made my brain worked MORE and not less!
Looked at the Communication TMA instead, with no bright insights and ideas, I decided to just not do anything, surf net or something. The body is tired but the brain is still working...not to mention, getting more and more worried with the Communication TMA PLUS there's the Accounting Group Project coming up. Best of all, these 2 assignments are due 2 days apart!!
I guess blogging shd help somewhat... and decided that after the entry, I shall "force" myself to get to bed... Maybe, by just lying there, I can get to lala land too?
Ohh! Before I forget, the much awaited and anticipated F21 clothings came today afternoon too! I've also split all the clothes into bags, ready to be distributed to the respective owners either tml (that's when I wake up) or Monday, when I go back to office. I've tried my pieces. Nice wan lor! hahahahahahahaha....
Also, thank you all for the wonderful Birthday Wishes on my special day! =)
edited at 10.30 am....
Just. Can't. Get. To. Sleep.
The funny thing was Hubby could still "talked" somewhat clearly to me as I got to bed! And I woke up at 10am this morning.

me and myself 1
That time of the year where I will insist that Age is all but a mere number.
Hence, I shall only have 1 candle on my birthday cake.
I'm on leave, have taken the day off to enjoy and do nothing. =) The only sad part is that I still have lessons tonight. Hence, no nice romantic dinner (we don't place much emphasis on VDay, it's too commercialized now) with Hubby, but he has made plans to go out for dinner tml. So, that's fine.
I wonder if it will ever come to a day when my cake becomes this....
A tiny cake that does not have enough space to house all the candles. whahahahaha
So before the day goes off, from myself to myself...
Stay pretty always and may I strike the Ang Pow Draw next week!

Snacks...and growing sideways...
Much food has been making it's way into my stomach since Nov last year... and the journey of the snacks are still slowly but surely making it's way in...
Among the many many, I rememebered most vividly were the slices of cakes from Pine Garden....
Coffee Moouse, Lychee Martini and Black Forrest! I enjoyed them very much... And come to think of it, am salivating at the memory of Lychee Martini and Black Forrest!
I think there is no need to dwell much more on how good the cakes are. I recommended the cakes to Irene and she, too fell in love with it pretty soon.
I left out my favourite Triple Layer Chocolate as it was simply too sinful to induldge =( But I began regretting my choice in leaving it out almost immediately too.
A few days later, after pinning for Pine Gardens, Triple Layer Chocolate but can't get, I had to satisfy my craving with this HUGE chocolate slice that was sold somewhere in AMK that I shared with Hubby after dinner as I really cannot resist! But it was a really bad choice. The cake was too dry and the chocolate much too sweet. =( A total waste of my money!
One of my Christmas present last year was this big PINK box of Earl Grey Tea! Even the individual sachets are in pretty pink!
To be honest, I've never really enjoyed Earl Grey. I mean I drink, but I would take something else, if there's a choice.
But, this packaging already attracts me and of course, after all these cakes, the best would be to wash it all down with ready tea! Some more, with such a nice packaging, must try!
Surprisingly, the taste is very smooth and the tea fragrant, not like the other Earl Grey I have tasted. Maybe, I don't know how to enjoy my tea... but this Earl Grey is definitely nice! And I've never used "nice" to describe Earl Grey. To me, it tasted a little like soap powder. I know I'm a mountain tortoise. But, ever drink before means never drink before lor.
I guess, my company knows that all of us must have been really feasting over the holidays and I'm wondering if all of us had put on weight that obviously.... coz the next few days, once I was back to work, I got this!
A Pedometer!
Heh! I guess, we all must have been putting more and more weight. The management decides that enough is enough and gave everyone this? Hoping to get more of us on our feet and off our bum bums? They even organised a mass walk during 1 weekday in the evening and the last I heard was more than 400 staff had signed up for this event!
Then, sometime ago, my campus have this "Mobile Sales Team" (don't mean they sell handphones har. It means they move around to sell their things!) coming round to take orders for Fragrance Bak Kwa and other CNY cookies / googies. I bought 500g (x 3) of Bak Kwa for CNY. 1 pack for PIL, 1 pack for my parents and the last pack for ourselves, which are due for collection tomorrow. It's sooo much cheaper in campus than outside lei! I'm saving as much as $5 to $7 per 500g, you know!
Last Saturday, the Godma and I went to Queen's street, and I bought 500g of shrimp rolls, 500g of pork floss rolls and 1kg of cuttle fish. Which, I'm about 1/4 thru the cuttle fish.
Hubby and I are into our 2nd tin of pineapple tarts... and I've more or less finished the mountain of keropok that I bought from campus when we were having the bazzar not too long ago. =/
Today, the mobile sales team came again and I bought 2 boxes of Japanese Mochi.
Red Bean and Green Tea. 1 of each.
And I just remembered, I have yet to get the Julie's Chocolate Love Letters! I suddenly remember seeing my sis ate it last Sunday and made a note to buy. But I kept forgetting.
Julie's Chocolate Love Letters are MUST haves for me.... actually, all the snacks, not even main meals are CNY must haves for ME!
I Love all these!!! Without any of these (with the exception of the Bak Kwa, that's Hubby's favourite), it doesn't feel like CNY.Ohh... And I completely forgot, I just bought 1 big box of Choc n Spice muffins (Their muffins are the best-est BEST! Soft, hot and moist! Hot not because it's in the warmer, but cos it's FRESH out of the oven!!!) over lunch earlier... which I have intentions to eat for Breakfast for the next 2 days with Hubby.

15 days of CNY
From young, my mom taught me that on the first day of CNY, must wear new clothes... as I grew up, I followed thru religiously. At least 1 brand new set of clothes, even undies. =P As I grow older and started earning my own keep... I think I've take it a step or maybe many steps too far.
Most of the time, I have at least 2 sets of new clothes, since I told myself, first 2 days of CNY we are always out, cannot be wearing same things. Fine! 2 sets for CNY.
Then slowly but surely and from goodness knows when... the amount of clothes that I start buying from Christmas and all the way to CNY is enough to honestly last me thru almost the 15 days of CNY! That is like if I count I wear a new top and a new skirt (as a set) once.
With great pride(!!!), I bought another a Beaded Satin Dress and a Satin V Top from F21 (again!).
The dress is meant for OBIL's ROM which is on 18 Feb. As for the top.... well... if I wear a tube inside, no one can stop me from wearing it to work.I was telling hubby last night that I hope the dress will come in time for OBIL's ROM. Hubby's reply was "You have nothing to wear for the ROM meh?" My reply? "Of course have... but feel like wearing this lor... but then again, even if it (the dress) does not arrive in time, I have no lack of things to wear."
Hubby promtly retored with "Ya la. It's not nothing to wear, it's you have events to wear finish or not!"
whahahahahahahaha....
Hubby knows me soo well!
But for the sake of my purse and bank account, I promise that this 2 purchase will be my last for Feb and March.
However, in Feb, there's another purchase coming. My Fancl supplies. I need my washing powder, tonner and moisturizer. Have already ran out of the washing powder, been using another for the time being as I did not want to buy since I'll have birthday privilages next month, which is just a matter of 2 days! Hence, I've been holding out since mid Jan ever since the washing powder ran out.

it's Ang Pow mood...
By now, almost everyone is starting to feel the anticipation, the excitment that the yearly ang pow time is coming again. If you are a non chinese.... Ang Pow refers to the red packets that married chinese containing moo lahs that will be given away to the young and unmarried and elders in the family. This is the biggest and grandest event in the Chinese calendar, which we call, Chinese New Year (CNY). =)
So besides the mad rush to clean house (which hubby and I have not done), to buy and stock up sky high prices of snacks and food (which hubby and I have finished half of what I've bought meant for CNY), the need to get new clothes for at least the first day of CNY, (which I can probably replace my entire wardrobe with looking at the amount of clothes I've recently purchased) the long queues in bank to change for new notes (thank God for the godma, who helped us change yearly) I guess the list is endless... but how can I possibly forget about the mandrain oranges carrier right?!
I try to recycle and reuse, but mine are all spoilt when I used them last year. So this year, no choice, have to get new ones and I got myself these...
Mickey Mouse for the year of the Rat! I reserved the Mickey Mouse carrier for myself and the "fa chai" for Hubby since I honestly don't believe he will be very happy carrying a bag of Oranges with Mickey...I knew my mother would like the "ong lai" (pineapple) so I gave her that and yes, I was absoultely right. She loves it.
In addition to these, Jeff bought me this.
Ha! A fabric mandrain orange bag! Now, this is really something that can be recycled and reused for a good long time! I saw something similiar last year, but the better half stopped me from buying... so I used the paper ones which broke.
Anyway, this year, I shall bring 2 bags of oranges
when I go out to make my CNY rounds! =)
Well, at least, my clothes, snacks, food, carriers are settled. Things could be much worse and not anything is done at all... The cleaning up... we shall start pretty soon.... right, Darling?! =D

Chow Time
Usually, chow time for me is in campus with my usual kaki. Because we both have no transport, the furthest by far we have went is maybe Bishan for variety, on the rare occasions that we have transport, we'll venture a little further.
But today, as my kaki need to collect her lens and specs, we made our way to Velo city and square 2. First stop, was to the optician to collect the necessary and then we went on our search for food.
The SA at the optician recommended us to Korean or Pasta Waraku. But I'm not keen for pasta as I just had it on Tuesday. So we settled for Korean. Which I think was a good choice!
I ordered the hotplate fried Saba Fish which came with seaweed soup and rice.
The fish was qutie fresh and the portion huge! I thought the fish would be the small cut kind but I was wrong!
The skin was crispy and flesh sweet and soft. Coupled with the black sauce and veggies, it tasted heavenly! I finished every morsel of it and pretty much of the veggies. Except the lettuce that the fish was on.. as by the time I'm done, the veg was soaked with oil! Of course, I left that alone then.
Together, we shared a hotplate potatoe pancake. Tasted more flour than potatoe. But when it was dipped with the sourish and spicy sauce that accompanied the pancake. It was quite nice. There was a chewy kind of feeling that I quite like. Similiar to that of the taiwan muah chee. But honestly, the hotplate potatoe is nothing much to rave about. I think I will try the rice cakes next time. =)
Oh, before I forget, the restaurant is
Seoul Yummy
Square 2 #03-68
and if you are in the area and need some help for your eyes, check out "United Optometrist" too. (It's just a few doors down the same corridor!) Look for Arion and mentioned my name... Maybe he'll give you a good discount like he gave the kaki when she mentioned my name. =D
Good things must share, so have just shared a good place for makan and a good optometrist!
Of course, after such a fullfilling meal, we have to exercise it off. Walked around and our legs brought us to URS. One of my favourite shoe shops if my kaki is with me, coz she has the membership card. There was promotion for almost all the shoes inside and with the card, additional 10% off!
I scored for myself this black dainty looking pair. The height is just nice. Roughly 2.5" or so. I like the material, makes it look causal and feminine and at the same time, without killing myself in it!
The kaki also bought the same pair for herself. =) But she bought another pair too which I think she will blog soon... so that's that for the moment.

Masks
I know I buy alot alot of things. But there are some things that are absoulte necessary.
One of the absolute necessity is face masks. Recently, I noticed that there are more blackheads and tiny little things at my nose and ever since my facial salon said my package expired, I refused to go back. I've been trying to make appointments with Fancl, but it's really so tough.
Hence, instead of squeezing all those hateful things out myself and harm my skin in the process I'll use this.
SHISEIDO Vital Perfection Mineral Mud Blackhead Removal Mask
Description: Shiseido’s latest skin care technology development, the SHISEIDO Vital Perfection Mineral Mud Blackhead Removal Mask is highly effective at reducing and removing black heads. At the same time, it helps in tightening the skin and reducing enlarged pore size . It is easily absorbed into the skin and quickly removes black heads, resulting in clean, clear, and revitalized skin.
Instructions: After cleansing, gently spread and apply evenly over cleansed, dry face, avoiding the eyes, lips, and eye brows. After the mask has dried (approximately 30mins), peel off from the outer edges upwards towards the centre gently. Then apply your usual toner and moisturiser. This can be used on the whole face or on the nose area only if you like. 2 – 3 times a week is sufficient.
Volume: 12 ml. Made in Tokyo, Japan.
Just placed an order for 20 of such masks and can't wait to try it out. BTW, the silly Biore pore packs does NOT work on me. Anyway, this mask is cheaper! At only $1.20 a piece.
In addition to this, my eye masks have also ran low, so I placed an order for 20 pieces of Collagen Eyes Masks too.
Collagen Eye Mask
Description: Has 3-in-1 effects of reducing eye bags, dark eye circles and wrinkles!
Selling outside for $2 per pair.
Main Ingredients: 膠原蛋白、左旋C、透明質酸、甘草酸、水解粘多醣
Weight: 6g (1 pair)
After being out in the sun, your skin will lose some nutrients especially collagen. When you get tanned, you still can revert to being fair but once you lose collagen, this is irreversible. If you don’t replenish in time, your skin will quietly get damaged and age. Beauty professionals warned that the greatest enemy for our skin is not aging but the day-to-day harsh environmental elements.
Product has 100% natural collagen, Vitamin B5 and this helps in moisturising and promoting circulation. Causes the cell growth factor VA and VE to quickly be absorbed into the skin and reactivate the dormant cells. This helps to rejuvenate the eye area, stimulate the metabolism and improve how your eyes look.
Use twice a week. You can massage the remaining essence into the skin near your eye.
I got this at $1 a piece. Cheap right? Even if I were to get from retail shops, also cannot get at this kind of price.
So, yes, call me spendthrift, but all these are absolute necessary in my little bimboatic life!
All photos and text of products are credited to Eden Roses. Whom, I must say, sprees for good and cheap things! Do check her out if you are interested.
