You know what they say about planning for the future and plan your studies schedule and plan your financial means etc etc etc. Basically, it's plan plan plan all the way lar. Since young till now, from studies, to work, to financial, to everything!
So YES! I've decided to head this timeless advise. I've made plans. Tonnes of them! All for this coming festive Christmas and best of all, ALL to be completed within the weekend!
Friday
To bring some festive cheer to my family, I've decided that I will be Ms Santarina on Friday evening. Delivering the presents that I've prepared for my sisters to them and also to stay for dinner at home. Coz it's the big and grand "Dong Zhi." According to my granny, she said Dong Zhi is even bigger than CNY. I don't really understand what she means but anyway, so be it.
Saturday
I will be bringing my mom and youngest sis to...
Yups! The Singapore Garden Festival.
This year, will not be able to have dinner with my family, and I also don't know what present to get for my mom.
And by a bright spark, I've thought of buying her 2 tickets to the Garden Festival. She can then ask her sis or friend or anyone to go with her. But, she can't find anyone to go and then she disappointedly told me she cannot go.
I thought about it, and then I offered to go with her. She sounded thrilled. Then later this afternoon, my youngest sis also sms me and said she want to go. So ok lor, I got 3 tickets @ $8 each. I was surprised at the costs. Since I saw from the Sistic website that it costs $12 + $1 (booking thru Sistic) per ticket. But the lady explained to me that coz I'm a PA card member, there's discount. ORH! I din even realise, I had this privilage! haha..
So that done. Saturday, for the better part of the day, find me in Suntec level 4 and 6 for the Garden Festival.
Following the exhibition, hubby and I are invited to a BBQ in the evening. Supposed to reach at about 7pm. I don't think it's a problem since I will be with my mom, hubby has some meeting with his friends. So we each have our own programmes till we meet up for the BBQ. *When was the last time we actually went for BBQ to eat BBQ-ed food?* Can't remember. Been ages since we last BBQ-ed.
Sunday
This must be my most holy day of the entire year! Will be going for 11.30 am mass for the weekly obligation. Then over the short time span of this morning, Lynn, Carmen & myself have agreed to go for lunch after mass. And at first what seems like a small group soon turned out to be something like 20 people as of last count! I think that's close to half of our RCIA class.
If all works out, we will be heading to Dome @ Bishan for our lunch. I hope the manager, Shelly is able to book the place for us. Have already called her but she needs to check and get back to me.
Before agreeing to the lunch plans, Emma, hubby & me have already agreed to go catch a movie. We wanted to go watch "The Nativiy Story" but it's not screening on 24 Dec!
Argg!!
So we decided on "Night at the Museum" instead. 3 tickets for the 3 of us for the 7pm show.
We will meet up early for dinner, then the show, and if time allows, we can have coffee (for the caffine?) to stay awake for the Christmas Mass following the show.
And yups, after the movie, we will be going to church for midnight Mass. =)
Began and ended my day in church. Isn't that holy?! hahaha...
Monday
Finally, Christmas Day!
Another morning in Church for the actual day Christmas celebrations and then no plans made for lunch yet. But probably will just go and have a simple lunch after all these sinful indulgences over the week.
Hubby and me got to NTUC in J8 to collect our pre-ordered ribs and ham. Then probably need to get some items to make dinner with. For dinner, we are going to do it at home. My family in law inclusive of OBIL's gf is gng to come over to our plc to celebrate Christmas. Can't really confirm what we will serve though the menu is pretty fixed.
That brings an end to our festive weekend! Did I make a good plan for hubby and I this year?
Think I did lei! hahaha
Well, having made all these plans is not enough, I got to physically call and make reservations at Dome for 20 persons, need to get tickets for the movie and also the Garden Festival.
The easiest was therefore to go to J8 after work and get it done. And since Hubby was off to meet his $$ mastery friends for some discussions, the best time was for me to go and get it today. Off I went to J8 to get all my items. After buying all that is necessary, I was walking around looking for things that catches my eye and really. NOTHING.
But, the surprising thing was I bump into my sister! She was there to look for some last mintue christmas presents for her friends. We shopped together then. She finally bought some precious moments keychains. Quite nice. But too 'plastic' for my liking. But I bought a magnet that says "The family that prays together stays together." Very nice. It's now on my fridge. Last year, I bought the "Give us today our daily bread." haha.. Nice verses isn't it?!
Since we both had not taken our dinner, we went for dinner at Yoshinoya. They had some Christmas combo going on. Sis had the Hoki fish set while I had their beef set. Came with 2 sticks of meatballs, miso soup and the rice set. As usual, their rice + miso soup is not bad.. but their meatballs is really really horrible!
Bleh!!!
We then took a look at the other tables, almost every table has the meatballs untouched. Really is not nice, especially the ones with the BBQ sauce. The balls are too er..."meaty" if you get what I mean and it's C-O-L-D! Yucks!
And since the set does not come with a drink. I ordered the "Cheery Cherry + Yugurt Strawberry" set.
Let me teach you how to make this festive sounding and rather nice to look at drink, "Cheery Cherry".
Cheery Cherry
2 tablespoons of canned cocktail, drained
1 tablespoon of Nata de Coco
Ice
F&N Cherry flavoured soft drink
That's all. And do note that my recipe is definately MORE generous in the amout of "chewies" that you will get! I only got a pathetic mere 7 pieces of small fruits not to mention 0 of nata de coco. My sis was oh-so-lucky! She got a grand total of 2 pieces of nata, but I guess the number of fruits therefore reduced.
N oh, Yogurt Strawberry. Just use a spoon, dig out the insides of the strawberry, add in yogurt, freeze it. Wolia! There you have it. But for goodness sake, choose BIGGER and RIPER and FRESHER strawberries!!!
Not that I have anything against Yoshinoya. Their rice bowl are still good as usual. But the additionals... maybe better to stick to things like "Sprite, Coke, Ice Lemon Tea..." you get my drift? And desserts, I guess MOS's strawberries are definately more appealing and according to my sister, 100% nicer!
Chatted and after such a disappointing dinner, we headed home. And I saw Jerome's 3rd uncle & his wife + their 3 grandchildren on the bus. I was not really sure if that's them hence did not address them till we got down at the same bus stop.
Even though the dinner was such a disappointment, I still finished everything except the meatballs. And there I was bitching this afternoon that I ought to stop eating so much and all these sinful food! =_="
Chatted as we walk on nothing of importance. 3rd uncle and aunt are friendly people and they cannot really be sure of who I am in the 1st place too. Hahah... we seldom see each other, that's why. But I'm pretty sure by Monday, FIL will be asking me if I've met them on the bus. hahaha...
Oh!! Yes!! Christmas is a few more days and look what I've got?
2 Christmas presents!!! Ok lar, me "acting excited" here. Got these 2 today. From my ex ex sup and current sup. I'm sure 1 of it is a plush toy. Probably a handphone holder of sorts. The other, I've no idea what it is. Feels quite heavy. Maybe some decoration thing. I also gave them theirs today. I got to ask my boss (of course also gave boss his present lar if not, no give him and ask him help pai sey right?!!) to help me pass ex ex sup's present to her coz I've missed her when she came to campus. No choice lor, looks unsincere but I'm not going to make a trip to her office in "Ang Sua" (Redhill) or to her plc in Bukit Timah! Boss and her are condo neigbours (staying at different blocks of condo) and boss agreed. Hengz!
Take a look at our Christmas tree now! Doesn't it looks full of presents?! I've placed the present for hubby near the tree too and he was sooo excited when he saw it earlier. He wanted to open it immediately. But I made him wait for Christmas! haha...
Oh, we shall have fun on Monday morning when we unwrapped our presents!
Ok, end of post. Super long post, isn't it?! Gosh.. So luo suo! But, I promise there will be more updates over the week! And did I mention that I'm on leave starting now?! ALL the way till NEXT year!
Yeah!!!!
No need to wake up early anymore till next year! No need to go to office till next year too!!! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!
